How to copy DVD content (non-Macrovision) to VHS?

I have something that is on a DVD-R - not copy-protected, no Macrovision, etc - that I would like to copy to a VHS tape. I have a two-deck Go-Video VCR and a standard DVD player. I'm sure I have all the cables necessary to do so - I just don't know what cables to hook up where. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If I understand what you're saying correctly, all you have to do is run your audio and video outs from your dvd player to your vcrs audio and video ins, play the dvd, and record like you would for a tv show.

If your VCR has only one audio input jack, you probably want to get a Y adapter for your stereo RCA's coming from the DVD player. If not, you'll only get to record the right or left audio channel on the VHS.

Thanks for the tips. This should have worked but for some reason it didn't. I'm going to experiment more this weekend and see if I can get to the bottom of it.

When you say it didn't work do you mean you got nothing or it just came out crappy?

I have two VCR's and a DVD player set up just for coping, I can copy DVD to VHS or VHS to VHS.......

I'll bet you have your DVD outputs to the auxiliary inputs on your VCR, which means you have to change the input selection on the VCR to Auxiliary, when you can see the DVD playing through the VCR to the TV you will know you are recording the DVD.
