WHAT WE DO

We make small, goodlooking PCs. By PCs, we mean the brains of the computer, the part many people keep stashed under their desks in a big beige "tower". Our latest models are the colourful Cubit 3 and the powerful Cubit P4.

WHY

We made the first Cubit because we thought PCs were too big and too ugly. We're not the first to think of shrinking the PC, but it's usually presented in a combination of oblong tin cans and spray painted plastic.

We design for style, build quality, compactness and ease of use. We want you to treat our machines as part of your decor. We want them to be at home in your living room, your office, your study bedroom... even your kitchen.

HOW

Style - Cubits have curvy outlines, a beautiful matt surface texture and come in a dozen different anodised colours... and we've introduced a gleaming chrome plating for the Cubit P4. Every Cubit is hand-finished by craftsmen here in the UK.

Build quality - all Cubits are made of 5mm thick aluminium. They will last. You won't want to throw them away in three years - you'll want to upgrade them.

Compactness - each part of the Cubit is designed to allow the best use of standard components in as small a space as possible. We've designed a special tray-loading system, Quickslot (TM), to accomplish this.

Ease of use - the Quickslot (TM) system makes upgrading quick and simple, so much so that you can build or upgrade your own Cubit in less than an hour. For the techies, make that fifteen minutes.
Opinions please.... :)

Ugly as hell.
Too small for me.
Looks like something a chic would want.

Wyodiver33 10-18-2003 12:56 PM

No thanks. I'll keep my big-ass beige tower. It's big, has many noisy fans, and it would eat a "Cubit" for breakfast.

Ganguro 10-18-2003 02:30 PM

soo cute!
i would like one of those in the kitchen with a flat panel screen to pull receipes off a database, or do some "googlecooking" or use as a multimedia server, but not for my main pc.

i picked up a Maxtor Ultra 160gb ATA 7200rpm today. i know its not as good but it was only $99 after a $30 rebate and i couldn't resist. i upgraded from a 20gb, suddenly i feel like i have a supercomputer.

hahaha 10-19-2003 05:54 PM

too small, no room for expansion, expensive, whats the point? Its not hard to find a good looking mid tower case, and my desk has room for a mid tower, so why not? If i was that stressed for space I would get rids of something else before getting a tiny comp. If i wanted something portable, I would buy a laptop.

MontanaXVI 10-19-2003 06:03 PM

waaay too small, would be nice for some kind of a custo application i am not sure what that would be but not my idea of an everyday user.

TrogDor 10-19-2003 06:59 PM

I dont like them really, sorry. Upgrading would just be a nightmare. Then there's the heating issues. Those would be good to be like a music player hooked up to your home theatre though.

Nice comp, but i feel a certain gratification knowing i can build and destroy my comp at will! I mean, who dosnt like troubleshooting for a week because you get file copy errors, and have it end up being a shitty IDE cable?

Edit: I uploaded the pics to my hosting space to rid us of the annoying "Remote linking forbidden" picture. This case is too cool to not show people. -MSD

kel 10-22-2003 07:07 AM

I am a fan of small form factor. I have to move around alot and it's nice not to have to carry a 40 pound PC along with my 80 pound monitor... For those of us who can't afford to play games small form factor is definitely worth the minimal price. If I need expansion I have my 600Mhz linux box which has 5 or 6 PCI slots, 5 drives (room for two more), and no monitor. Everyone should have a spare linux box in a closet.

supafly 10-24-2003 05:19 AM

It looks great, specs nothing special, but I think it's a bit to expensive.

Gortexfogg 10-25-2003 11:12 AM

If it doesn't look like a computer, I probably don't want it. That cubit just makes me think I'd toss it aside forgeting what it was...
