Uploading Program
I need everyone's opinion on a good uploading program. My college server won't allow me to delete files from my directory using Cute FTP, and WS-FTP is only a 30-day trial. Are there any other good uploading programs out there that are free? Thanks!

why can't you delete files with cute? do you get an error? they are all ftp clients, they should all work the same. I also use flashfxp as my preference.

I don't know; I think it might be some sort of server setting. I just tried it five minutes ago and it let me delete a file, but 20 minutes ago it wouldn't. It does this often, and if I need something deleted to save space quickly, then having it not work is really bothersome.

If you are using a Windows based system, you can use Internet Explorer as a FTP Client. This will allow you to drag and drop files as well as delete them if you need to.

i recommend flashfxp as well, used to have cute but something with the queue was goofy i dont remember exactly what but i love flash.

ftp explorer
Looks like the windows explorer and has all the same right click abilities. Can batch download and is usually very acurate at automatic setting between asci and binary. |
i use ftp voyager for complex needs, but most of the time i use IE/windows explorer as my ftp browser.

ssh.com has a free (for non-commercial use) secure ftp client available. i use that to transfer to and from my webhost. it does sftp and port 21 without a hitch.
i've used flash for years as well, so add another vote for FlashFXP from me. |
www.smartftp.com think that client is still free

Thanks for the suggestions; some good programs were listed.
