HELP! I can't change my homepage
For some reason I don't have the option of changing my homepage
It may be a program I'm running, but I'm not sure which one, if any. Does anyone know a tweaking program or any other that might have the option to block my homepage being changed? I'm running IE6, on an XP Pro OS. Please don't bother telling my to use another browser because I won't. :p http://www.boomspeed.com/sixate/InternetProperties.jpg |
run an anti-spyware program, many spyware things do that.
If not, run msconfig, uncheck "load startup items" and see if you can change it them. If you can (you should be able to) work on the list by checkin one program at a time, its a pain, but you will find it for sure. |
oh yeah, in order to change anything in msconfig, it requiers a restart after every change (whoops)

Also try dragging a page icon to your Home button... see if you can change your home page that way.

UnnDunn, that didn't work. I tried booting into Safe Mode in case a program was loading and causing the problem, but it didn't help.

that sucks.
try this, this is a long shot. change it from the registry itself. here is where it's stored in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Start Page |
The_Dude, Rekinom just told me that in TFP chat and it worked. Thanks to both of you :D
