Google: How to clear past searches

When you search for something on Google it remembers everything you have searched for so when you go to search for something beginning with the letter "a" a dropdown scroll bar appears with everything you have searched beginning with the letter a: Amazon, ABC, etc. Is there a way to clear all of these former searches. Sometimes I find them annoying and want to get rid of them. Does anyone know? Much obliged for any info. Thanks.

Clear history should do the trick.

Clear History

Close down all browser windows, then restart.

Yeah, that will clear all the things in the address bar (www.tfproject.org, etc.) but not things in the search bar where you would put things like "Beatles lyrics," "digitial cameras," etc. Thats what I want to get rid of. Thanks though.

Tools->Internet Options
- click on the "Content" tab
- at the bottom where it says "Personal information", click on "AutoComplete"
- select "Clear Forms".

You can undo the checkboxes so that it doesn't remember this stuff.

the past searches data are memorized by your cookies (that notepad with site codes) so deleting cookies from google.com will do the job

As a side note, you might want to try a little program called Auto-What. It's a little PCMagazine utility, that allows you to look at all your auto-complete data, and edit//clean it. I've found it very useful. If you can't find a version on the web, (I had a hard time finding my copy, PM me, and I'll see what I can do.)

As a side note to hawkeye's sidenote, here is a link to pc magazine's AutoWhat 2: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,90317,00.asp

Looks like a cool utility.

By the way, when using the first excellent suggestion about how to clear the forms, remember to close and reopen your IE window.
