finding the recycle bin
My friend erased her recycle bin icon and I cant find the recycle bins location to bring it back. She is running windows Millenium edition. Any ideas?

ive never been able to do that... sounds like fun!
|
didnt know u could do that

i have 3 possible solutions to this.
1) go look under c:\ make sure the hidden files and folders are enabled and look for a file called "recycled". i've seen it on some os's and not sure if ME does that. if exists, copy to your desktop/shortcut it. 2) right click on desktop and go to new. see if you see recycle bin under the expanded menu. 3) download a program called 'tweak ui' from the microsoft site. install it (it will have an icon on the control panel) and go to the "desktop" tab of the program. you should be able to edit what you see on desktop with this. |
It's typically C:\RECYCLER
|
Taking a look at my XP partition it looks to be \Recycled
I don't doubt it would be much differently named in ME. Also, doesn't ME come with system restore? You could always just restore it back to a point in which the bin existed. |
It's C:\Recycled as Xirax said. Just pull up Explorer and drag it over to the desktop to create a shortcut.
Or open the C:\Recycled folder in Explorer then right click on the Recycle Bin icon in the folder and select Restore. |

Check the Recycle Bin, deleted items usually end up in there... oh hang on... ;) Sorry, couldn't resist.

Arrange Icons command should do the trick, and be easy to test. |
