MS-Dos Printing
Hey, does anyone know how to make an old msdos program recognize a usb connected jetprinter under win 2k or 98?
|
if the printer is installed and working under windows it might work with a lpt1: or prt:/prn: device name, depends on the proggie

Try this- it appears to work under 2K - not sure about 98.
1: Share the printer out using file and print services. 2: Then from a command prompt - map the share to lpt1: as if it were a network print server. ie: NET USE LPT1: \\machine_name\printer_share Now fire up the DOS app and it should print to lpt1: (which is mapped to the Windows printer) Reply to the thread or PM me if this is unclear. |
