Monitor mirroring

I have a friend who is on a Dell laptop with a GeForce Go installed (I forget model number). It has a VGA-out connection and I am able to connect an LCD to this. When I do this I can extend the desktop onto this second monitor (you know, move windows onto the second monitor and it acts like an extension of the first).

However I was wondering if there was some way for the second monitor to be a mirror of the laptop display? I downloaded the lastest drivers from nVidia, looked around for a possible setting but couldn't find one. I may have just been stupid and over looked it. ANy help would be much appreciated.

Huh, my laptop has, as one of the "function" settings, "LCD->CRT" or something like that. It sets it up as a copy. On mine, it's Fn+F5. Look around for something like that. (Shows a pic of a monitor and a laptop)

Agreed, UltraMon is an excellent tool, I've heard it recommended many times. I just wish I had multiple monitors to try it out on.

I have dual monitors setup on my desktop with a geForce4 Ti4200, and I know that it wont give you the options to mirror if you have it set to extend the Windows desktop. If you look in the Advanced settings in the display control panel, there should be an option for Twinview in the Geforce settings. This is of course assuming that nVidia made it the same between the geForce desktop and mobile drivers.
