Water + Computers = Bad stuff
Well, short story.
I had my Tibook sitting next to a window. An open window. In a rather heavy downpoor. While in sleep mode, so it was still semi-powered. Needless to say, my Tibook got a real soaker. And the bloody thing still works! I dried off the case, popped out the battery and removed the keyboard and let it sit for a day. A very long day. I have dropped this thing, left it out in my car overnight a few times in the middle of a Canadian winter. No probs. I swear, there has never been a better made, more dependable laptop. A look at just some of the damage: http://music.tinfoil.net/images/pics/corner-closed.jpg I swear, I shouldn't be allowed to own a laptop. |
lolz, water and electricity never mix.
but amazing that your laptop still works. |
Blows my mind.
Would have been far worse if it had been something other than (relativly clean) rain water. |
For such abuse to your TiBook I feel you should send it to me for safe care. I will send you pictures of your baby once a month so you can sleep well at night knowing your Ti is in safe hands. :D
|
no, no you shouldn't. so, send it along now... me'n Juan will take good care of it. :D
|
You shouldn't...FRIGGIN IN teh rain and what not. Seriously though how/why leave it near a open window ever?!
|
I haven't had a chance to play with one yet... good to see the quality is still there.

Cheerios, Of course, once it is out of my posession oit will fall apart. I must have good luck (for once) when it comes to this.
Soggybagel: My desk faces the window. I normally don't leave it open while I am out, but I got called into work on an emergency and it slipped my mind. egorey: Indeed it is. I shudder to think what would happen if I had subjected my Dell to this treatment. |
