Speaker problems...
Im not sure if this is the right spot for this but...
Today I managed to blow out the foam rubber seals around the edge of the woofers in my dads speakers (they are older then me, but...). Regardless, anyone know a good place to buy new woofers? I think they are 310's but not positive. |
My father was able to find just the foam part for the woofers for an old pair of speakers he has. Depending on the model you may not even have to purchase the entire woofer. Replacing them was clean-up and glue them in place type job. I'm willing to bet someone here knows more about it. But if not I'll ask him this weekend.

A quick google search (for speaker surround replacement) turned up a bunch of links. Here are a couple:
http://www.speakerworks.net/kits.html and http://www.simplyspeakers.com/15refoaming.htm Hope that helps. Take a look I'm willing to bet you can find what you need. |
Thanks man, that does indeed help a lot.

Wow! Great links! I have some older speakers gathering dust that are freekin' awesome except the foam rotted. New Hope!

DO you guys keep your grill covers on?
I hae a set of Cerwin Vega 300 Ses I bought new in 1989 and they still look like new. The foam on the woofers is just fine. These babys kick ass, worth every penny I spent. |
