ssh, i have no clue?
A buddy of mine has a file server that we use for posting pics to our website. Well last year the server got hacked pretty good.
Now he is running ssh/scp instead of ftp. WTF is ssh/scp? and where do i find a client that i can access ssh server, that runs on windows? Any help from the linux/unix crowd? |
http://www.openssh.org/windows.html
SSH is a secure protocol over which SCP (Secure Copy) runs. iXplorer for Windows is what I use. |
Thanks man, and someone from my home state too:)
I was born in Lemmore and lived all over there. I will give it a try and see if i can figure it out. |

all hail putty! that's what i use when I don't have a 'nix commandline handy. It's like having a mini-commandline sitting there, so if you're not comfy w/ that, go w/ something w/a gui.
|
I also adore PuTTY, and recommend it.

I use putty to manage my routers and switches. It is a great product. I think there is now a new version of ssh. I know there were some implementation issues with the previous version.

another vote for putty..
though im not a comand line commando or anything.. i've been using putty and pine to check my school mail since 96. Putty rules! |
putty and pscp
|
SecureCRT at the office. PuTTY when I'm a friend's house and need to get to my systems.
|
I would also recommend PuTTY if you are using Windows.
|
PUTTY all the way!!!!!

WinSCP is pretty cool too (especially for people who are unfamiliar with the CLI). Looks like a drag-and-drop FTP client.
