Short answer: no.

Medium answer: if you don't care anything about the benefits of open source software and free software and if you have absolutely no interest in ever learning anything that will actually help you run a Linux system, maybe.
Otherwise, no.

If you want to give Linux a wherl hit up Red hat or Mandrake (also easy right?)

but you have to WANT to use the system and learn the stuff you will need to learn to have a fully functional system.

Just like using DOS back before windows was usable you will need to learn alot about your system for it to all work.

Lindows is just a rip off.

i like apt-get on Debian. we use that for our ACM server... difficult installation, though. not for the faint of heart

This is to JesusPimp AND Cheerios; if you want "painless" Debian, try LibraNet; the guys (Jon and Tal) have taken all the pain out of Debian, but left the power. The latest release (2.8) is getting the type of reviews I never expected to see for any Debian based Distro; a couple of the reviews mention "ease of installation" for Debian!?!?!? I sweated blood installing "Slink", and "Potato" and "woody" were almost as hard (I'm on dialup; if I wasn't, I would have just done "apt-get dist-upgrade"). Anyway, I've been using LibraNet since 1.9, it's done nothing but get better in every release; it also has a utility called "Adminmenu " that lets you do all the little (and not-so-little) pain-in-the-ass administration tasks that need to be done, and you can do them right fron the desktop in a GUI; you can even re-compile the kernel from your desktop. All the other Debian goodies are there too, like apt/dpkg, so why not D/L one of the older versions and give it a shot? The current version is rather expensive ($56.00 USD), but they do have older versions available for D/L.
