Website Designer Needed
Hey. I need someone to redesign my website. My current webmaster (who is doing it for free) has been unresponsive in the last 2 weeks. My site is Halloween themed, and I need to get my update done ASAP, as the peak season is pretty much here.
Things I need are... 1. New Hosting service 2. Retaining of my domain name 3. All new graphics (I will provide) 4. All new .pdf content (I will provide) 5. Ability for customers to pay with PayPal 6. Some sort of way for me to upload new content without contacting you each time I need to do it. Also some way for me to see a list of current members, manually add members and things like that. Check out my current site, I'm looking to keep the framework essentially the same, but I have all new stuff to plug into it. jamminpumpkins.com BTW, I'm not looking for this to be done for free, I'll pay you. (a TFP discount would be nice, however:thumbsup:) I do all of my own graphic design and stuff, but the whole HTML thing escapes me. Eventually I would like to be able to have the site built in Dream Weaver, but I haven't learned that either. So someone who works in Dream Weaver and can teach me that would be preferred. |
I would love to take a crack at this, but it's a little out of my league as I'm just learning too. But I do have an idea for you: my website is hosted at 1&1 Internet Inc. - Web Hosting Services and Domain Name Registration, and I find them to be great. I don't use my space for much of anything at the moment, just trying out bits of code as I learn them, but they have a website builder program as part of the hosting package as well as e-commerce payment options and a slew of other features thrown in. Why don't you have a look at that? The website builder program has a demo you can try out as well.

Siteplug: MC's pumpkin designs are awesome. He made a custom one for me last year of my son's face.

MC, I'm not available to do the web design, but I can offer you web hosting space for free if you'd like. I have plenty of disk space and bandwidth left over every month. Not sure what is involved in transferring over the domain. Do you have control of it through a registrar? Let me know if you're interested. I go through a company called Dreamhost. Service is fast, systems are stable and work really well. Been using them for years. I can plant another domain on my server and give you full control over it.
-----Added 24/9/2008 at 09 : 15 : 01----- FYI, after looking over the site, it looks like it would be VERY easy for anyone with HTML experience to do. If I had more time, I'd do it for sure. With work + school, I'm glad I get time to browse the web every day, lol. Mostly from work, too... |
I'm certified CIW Associates, but it doesn't really mean much of anything. <.<
I'm not very experienced in it, but Dream Weaver really makes it easy, not much experience required to use it. Pricey though, if I recall right. But in the class I took for it we didn't do anything, erm, useful I guess lol. We all worked together to make and maintain an elemenraty school's site, and our own school's sites too of course. Never really dealt with things like pay-pal or anything like that I suppose. It almost felt like working with ms paint. ;) So I don't give myself any credit for being certified in web design tbh. Dream Weaver helps you with the tags though, soooo easy. You don't have to know much of anything about html, just slightlyyyy what you want it to do, I think it even gave a list of the right tags to use when you start to type it. The class we used was with prosoft training, prometric, I think. If you were interested. I don't remember the class being toooo expensive, but then again the teacher was a genie at making other people pay most of the costs for anything, she raised at least 65k i think for our robotics team. :x Goodluck with the site. Hope you get it all figured out. :D |
Forgot about this topic...
My webmaster finally got off his ass shortly after I posted this, so I kind of forgot about it. I have a new host, and I have the domain transferred. I'd still like to get the site 100% redone using Dream Weaver. I already have the program, maybe I just need to start fucking around with it? But once again, any help would be good. I have big plans for the site before next season, so I'm starting now... |
I've used dreamweaver quite a bit (school/business) and can do most things in it. The shopping cart might be a bit harder but I'd be up for talking to you via chat/phone about it. Send me a PM on here if you are interested in talking about a redesign. As long as I don't have to make alot of new graphics I'm down for it. I have no artist ability when it comes to designing graphics.
