Website editor

I am looking for a program that is easy to use to edit a website, add pictures to it (they currently are in a table thumbnailed and if you click on a picture it will open in a new page). The company page was made by someone who kind of tried ripping us off by asking insane amount for maintaining the site (this was before I came to the company). I know computers, but never really did html.

I have looked at the code, cynthetiq has as well, he feels the site was coded from scratch and not designed using any specific program (which would have made it a bit easier to select the program).

Anyway thank you in advance.

Dreamweaver is awesome if you want to purchase something.

If you'd consider not using a WYSIWYG, I'd suggest inType for coding.

vim or notepad ;)

I actually had a copy of dreamweaver and maybe there was to many bells and whistles, or the fact that I had never used it before but I found NVU to be just perfect fit so far for me.

just wanted to add the 'latest' version of Nvu is KompoZer - Easy web authoring which is the continuation/bug fix of the now dead Nvu project.
from the FAQ:
"Why call it «KompoZer» instead of «Nvu»?

Because « Nvu and the Nvu logo are trademarks of Linspire Inc. »
As Linspire stopped the development of Nvu, there is no legal way to correct any bug in Nvu."

I personally use notepad and Kompozer together for my own poor creations.

edit: of course Kompozer is linked on the Nvu site now; consider it a recommendation from me then for using the program that is actually being updated and improved
