SM-320 Microphone... help?
So, I was looking for a good, cheap stereo microphone for my camera (I already own a shotgun mic) and I came upon this little bugger, and I'm a little weary of the price and the fact that I've never heard of nor can I really find anything on this product. Does anyone here know if this is a good microphone or not?
I really need something to put on my new boom pole... :expressionless: |
Well it is very cheap. Not sure why it claims to be stereo when it is clearly a mono mic with a mono jack...

When in doubt ask the self-proclaimed experts:

Samlap makes another line called "Shule." They are all rip-offs of Shure microphones.
I've never used one ... I will say that with regard to electronic equipment "you get what you pay for." However, I'm also a big proponent of "it's not the gear, it's the user." For $20 it wouldn't hurt to just get one and if it's crap get something better. At least then you'll have two microphones ... you never know when the cheap one will work for a cool special effect. Here's a link to their website: http://www.cn-samlap.com/file-e/prod...21809;咪 Not sure if it will work though--and watch out the site is veeeerrrrry slooooow. Doug |
Thanks everybody, I think I may just buy it for a substitute until I can afford one of those nice Sennheiser motherfuckers in five years.

I'm actually looking for some microphones too, but more like lapel ones.
this is an interesting for $20 |
if you already have a shotgun, what project are you doing that requires a stereo mic? you might find it more useful all-around to get a wireless lavaliere mic - they can be clipped to just about anything to get the up-close nats.

I do already own a Rode VideoMic, which is a shotgun mic, but I decided I'm going to invest in an NTG-2 as well to put on my boom pole, which is why I was interested in this mic. As much as I wish I could use a lavaliere mic, it simply would be too much of a pain in the ass when doing what I do, which is shoot movies.
