Advertising a Website.

So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on places that advertise websites. I have this website but it does not show up on any of the search engines.

Seems the only way to actualy find the website on a search engine is to actualy type the name of the company in.

And our markets seems to get more internet based every day. so i would like to do alittle advertising.

I was just checking out our hosting companys site. Its Network Solutions.

They seem to offer some advertising. Here is a link.

What do you guys think? If anyone has used this let me know ur opinion.

I'm not sure what Network Solutions' service will do for you, but it may just some SEO guide for you to fix your website's structure and content, SE submission tools, Directory submission tools and provide some report for your website by monthly.

The problem is that it will take long time for SE to index your website. It maybe good for long term but cannot get result on next day.

Did you try to place ad by Google AdWords? I think you can try it first, it can let you find your target visitor.

My company also join it and have good response.

You can do SEO yourself and save a lot of money....if you have the time to do it, that is. Effective SEO requires persistence. There are some great books out there.

I'm currently building and promoting a personal website for freelance work and I'm just getting into this kind of thing. I just signed up to AdWords for a modest but highly focused campaign. I'll see how it turns out.

Yeah, if you just want higher placing keywords, google around for advice on SEO. It takes a while (both in time passing and time put in), but it can really make a difference. AdWords is also good for getting things started.

Still, there are some simple things you can start of with doing that will help. What sort of website is it anyway? What are you selling?

That network solutions thing looks like overpriced garbage IMHO. If you want to advertise, I'd either do offline advertising, or online advertising through Adwords/YPN/MSN. If you want your site to show up higher in search results, one thing that helps is getting links to your site. If you are running a business and are not selling a unique/blogWorthy product, it might be hard to get links. One way you can get links is to write related content about your business and products that people would find interesting. Like if you owned an online bike store, you could write a guide about the best frame material for each rider. Or something like that.
