Dual Displays
Ive got a radeon 9700. Ive been playing around with dual monitors a bit. Ive found that I would rather have an independant desktop on each display rather then the extended desktop. I dont see a way to do this. Am I missing something in the display properties? Is their a 3rd party program that does this?
The reason I want this is for IM and other web stuff while Im dead in CS. My big problem is their is not an easy way to get the mouse over to the other display. I still end up dropped to my desktop and possible timing out of the game. Any help, suggestions, or "this is how I use my displays" is welcome. |
The ATI settings fo dual head should allow you to do it in 2 ways, one huge desktop or two independant ones look in the properties it should be there.

I play CS in a window on my primary monitor, and chat in the other. That's the easiet way that i know of.

I have a GeForce fx5300 with dual supports and have yet to enable it, I have a 2nd monitor but don't know how to go about the 2 at once hookup or is it pretty easy to do?
|
You just connect the monitors, and right click the desktop > settings > extend desktop to monitor
at least that's how you do it with ATi |
nice, im on vacation next week may have to look into getting em both on
did you find a way to enable it across 2 desktops or is it still as one for you? |
Thx.... Ive tried the "windowed CS thing." I was detered from that because I havent found the way to run BF1942 windowed.

get ultramon its really nifty, someone mentioned it on here, adds a second taskbar, and dual screensavers and modes etc.

how much do these dual moniter videocards cost?
|
to be honest not that much i picked up mine from newegg just last week for 79 bucks with free shipping :)
it is a geforce fx5200 lite which if im correct is a budget line of cards, it doesnt have the massive vortex cooling system on it but it does have the dual output option and comes with the connector you will need to convert it to the right plug or whatever i dont know the name of it, also has 128mb ddr ram which is more than just about any game iwll need right now. |
