Help needed with Nero Vision 8 - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Simply put, I'm trying to make a dvd. When I try to edit a movie I hear the audio but I have no video. It's just a solid black screen. At first I thought it was the avi file, however, the file plays fine in Windows Media player, VLC Player & Nero Showtime. The only place that does show the video is Nero Vision.

Well, after a while I added an old video file I had worked with before. I knew this file should work since I'd used this file before to make a DVD with no issues. As luck would have it now this video too was now only a black screen with audio as well.

I've tried about six different avi files and jpegs since then. None of them show at all in the editing window of Nero Vision. Since this started I've uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas? Is there a simple button to push or an option to check I just don't know about?

Yeah, this happens to me a lot as well. Try outputting to an ISO and mounting it with Daemon Tools for testing. The video has _always_ been there for me, despite not showing up during the transcoding phase. YMMV

Well, it's not just the transcoding phase it's also in the editing. I can't see how to edit commericals out or add text subtitles if needed. Though I guess I can try using nero to make a dvd and just edit the vob files with another program, but I was hoping to skip the long extra steps.

Still thanks, it's good to know i haven't actually "lost" the video with Nero.
