laptop touchpad scroll with firefox the other day i let someone else use my laptop.... they used my touchpad and they instinctively opened up IE... they went to a webpage and then they all of a sudden start to scroll with ease using my touchpad! i've kinda forgotten that i could even do that.... i played with it afterwards but it doesn't work with firefox... the mouse turns to the scroll arrow thing when i use it, but it doesn't scroll the page :( i'm almost tempted to use IE soo i could scroll... but i can't. does anyone have any suggestions? i'm not sure of where to even start with this one and i almost forgot, i have a HP Pavillion... it's like a square touchpad with a side area that is intended for scrolling only... is this a problem that can be fixed by adjusting firefox or adjusting the touchpad? |

I'd say adjust the touchpad, and check your mouse/touchpad settings to ensure that the touch zones/lanes are wide enough. Scrolling works fine for me in Firefox when I'm using the touchpad |

mine scrolls fine in FF with the touch pad if i just run my finger down the right side of it (i've never adjusted a setting for it, it always did it and I couldnt figure out why for the longest time lol) |

my mouse pointer turns into the scroll icon thing when i move my finger over it, and it works in other programs.... really weird. and now that i know everyone else's works with firefox, i'm stumped! |

What version of firefox has you? |

2.0.0.3 i allways keep it up to date. the only enabled plug in at the moment is add-block, looking though my list of add ons, i found i had mouse gestures, but that is disabled.... soo far i managed to make it scroll like an inch once...not sure how that happened.. i did the about:config stuff and searched for everything relating to mouse and scroll... everything is on default settings..... this is making me disappointed chunks of time later I FIXED IT!!!!! :-) |

What did you do to fix it? Firefox scrolls fine with my touchpad but I've had the problem on occasion in other programs |

i just rolled back the drivers to the previously installed version. there wasn't any functionality changes between versions so i don't even see why they updated! |
