Another question relating to sharing

You may remember me asking how to set password for what i share but it turns out, it was a great inconvinience. Right now, i removed all the accounts that required password and set my share so "everyone" has access right. but when people try to view what i am sharing, it still asks for password. How can i resset it to the way it used to be where it doesn't take a password for someone to access my shared files? by the way, i am running window xp pro.

The other computers should be in the same Workgroup and should have user accounts on your system with passwords that match their own.

If you enable the built-in Guest account (it is disabled by default in XP), then you won't need to do what I wrote above.

Like he said enable the guest account then by default when some one trys to access you computer it will just let them in and not ask for a user/pass..........
Personally i just started useing xp and don't like it, one reason is that you can't set ntfs security like you can with 2k and 2003, with me working on ppl's pc's and some haveing 9x I like to have shares that they can access so i enable the guest account but don't want them to have access to everything so i just give the guest account acess to one share useing NTFS security permisions..... but the are not there in xp pro..... guess i will go back to 2k.... have MCSE in 2k anyways............
