Xbox 360 Surround Sound?
Okay, I've sorted out the HD problem, hopefully this will be as simple!
I've got a Sony DAV-DZ100 home cinema and I'm trying to hook up my 360 to it, but everything I've tried so far hasn't worked. I know you can use an optical cable with the HD component, but my system doesn't have an optical input. My 360 is connected to my TV via Component and my HC is connected via scart. Can anybody help me out here? I will be eternally greatful! :) |
You need an optical input for true surround sound for the 360. Does your home cinema have a coaxial input? You might be able to find an optical-coaxial adapter.
Here is a link to some inexpensive optical/coaxial adapters ($30): http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/a...s.html#pof-830 FYI: SCART only supports 2-channel audio. |
It has a coaxial so it looks like thats the way to go. How may channels of sound does coaxial carry then?
Cheers soccerchamp. |
Coaxial and optical are both digital audio transfer mediums, i.e. they carry the same number of channels just transfer the data in a different way.
Multichannel audio, it is at least 5.1, i'm not sure about 7.1 but there is still a ways to go before 7.1 becomes a standard. |
