Wierd AGP video card boot problem
I have an ATI 9600XT AGP video card in my computer now. When I installed it and changed the primary video adapter in BIOS to AGP, the computer gets to the XP screen and just hangs. But when I set it to PCI (I have another video card in there for another monitor) the computer boots fine.
Any ideas on how to get the computer to boot with AGP card as the primary? BTW: My motherboard has an onboard nvidia video setup, not sure if that has any effect. |
Just a guess but maybe you didn't disable the onboard video in the bios. It's possible that it auto disables with pci but not agp?
Maybe see if you can borrow a different AGP card to see if the card you have is bad? (or test that agp card in a diff pc to very that it works). |
To actually disable the onboard video, I think you need to do that in Windows. Just go to the Device Manager for that. Then try setting the primary video adapter to AGP in the BIOS.
