everytime i turn off my monitor(leaving the pc on) i have to readjust my screen. Vertical/horizontal sizing and placement

Uh... try using Restore Factory Defaults on it and see if that helps, otherwise get a new monitor? Not a whole lot you can do seeing as the screen positioning is set on the monitor itself and not set by display drivers or anything.

is it an LCD or a CRT, what brand, how old?
