Spoiler text
In a few posts, I've seen white text on a white background, so that you only read what's in it if you really really want to - in case of 'spoilers'.
So how do I change the background of my text, I can see the colour changing drop-down on my screen, but this only changes the fore-colour, how do I change the background colour of my text? |
Code:
this is using the code tag PHP Code:
HTML Code:
the html tag |
you don't change the background of your text. we allow for people to use colour when appropriate, but it would be visually chaotic if everyone used different colours with different backgrounds, etc. sorry.

edit: bah, mod says no and i posted after he did, so i removed it. there is an easy way to do it with html and it does work; i'd say that having a spoiler tag wouldn't be a bad idea to provide the same service.

There is a spoiler tag that does this for you. At the beginning of the spoiler use the [ spoiler ] tag and at the end of it, use the [ /spoiler ] tag. Of course when actually using these tags, there are no spaces.

ok, like Spoiler: this?
Cool, thanks! |
Next time, when you want to figure out how somebody did something neat in their post, hit the Quote button at the end of their post, and you can see the codes that they used.

Just chiming in to repeat what Redlemon said - the best way to learn the different effects is to see the code already laid out for you, then just change it to what you need.

Actually, the best way would be to read the Rules associated with Tilted Entertainment as the spoiler code was demonstrated there ;)

I don't like spoiler text with the background of the text the same color of the text. It just looks too...not "pretty"? I like to do the:
[ color = 1D444D ] blah blah blah [ / color ] Like this: highlight blah blah blah /highlight Much more cleaner than a big blob of white squares all over the forum. Anyone else agree with me? - Undercover_Man |

Don't want to be spoiled? Then use default theme. Simple as that...default TFP theme is perfect the way it is. God job to whoever came up with it. Don't need to change it.
