Banned?
 

I love this board, I come here every day (if I can) I was just surfing one day, went to get some food, came back and suddenly, I was banned. No explanation, nothing just that I couldn't access the forums. My username was Gofclowns and I really do like these boards and I would really like to know why I was banned... I was almost tilted :(

Yeah, but if you have a registartion confirmation dump account, and you check only when you register to the new sites, you wouldn't know about the message :rolleyes:

I know of 3 ppl who was banned from this board and none of them were sent an email. Kinda unprofessional? I dunno. But 2 of them think they knew what they did wrong but the other had no idea. He thinks it was a mod picking on him. How bout a courtesy email or something. If someone does something wrong then how is s/he supposed to correct his/her ways and learn from his/her mistakes.

P.S.: Hmmm...btw I'm 21+ :D Only did one thing to take advantage of being 21+ tho is going to Platinum Plus. Didn't like it. Too many fatso's and WAY too much smoking.

Add one more to the list of those that were banned without explanation. I was here as Beatlefan58, and got banned without an email. I asked for an explanation three times now (once in a PM under this name, twice via email) and haven't heard a thing. I'm hardly a menace to the board, and would like to know what happened.

In his case, if he's coming back after being banned for being a dick, it's probably best that he doesn't go out of his way to get our attention.

In general, some of us won't send an email simply because we've already been dealing with this person via PM's, and they've just gone back and done the same shit they've been warned about in the past. In which case, they're shouldn't be a question as to why they were banned.

This is sick, watching these people hang themselves. But...I...can't...look...away.

People can also be banned for not acting in a manner befitting to polite society (name calling, bashing, intollerance, attacks, etc.). This is a community with simple rules to be followed. I guess that's too hard for some people.

hmmmm..i gotta say i've been noticing alot of people are being banned but when i get curious and look at their other posts i dont understand what they did..:/ if i dont know the person and i cant figure out what they did wrong then i'm sur eit must be really confusing for them :) also why are so many people getting banned lately?

What's lately? I looked back over the past week, and we had two banned for blatent violation of well known policy, and one sitting in the corner, wearing a dunce cap for a week, for being a weenie. That doesn't seem excesive.

What you are seeing is people bumping up old threads, and those old threads contain posts from people who were banned a long time ago. Check the posting dates.

Also, if it was a specific post that led to them being banned, the mods probably deleted the problematic post, and for good reason.

Actually, I have another question about having been banned. One of my friends, aus10tatious (bet you can guess his name), was the one who showed me this forum. He is, at the time of this posting, 17 and got banned because, obviously, he's underage. It was just confusion on his part and having skipped through the registering without reading that he had to be 18 and over.

Anyway, he got banned for it because he made some comment about not being able to vote and being pissed about it, kind of like the post above. (By the way, I too was impressed that got caught. Good monitoring skills ;)...) He was then sent an e-mail telling him that he was being banned for a year. Does that mean that he can come back when he's 18, or a year from the date that he was banned?

(In many ways, I'm kind of glad he doesn't read things before 'signing.' I never would've found this forum unless he had.)

it really wouldn't surprise me if that was true Mr SelfDestruct... i've noticed how quick u guys are at closing useless threads and things like that!!!
