Is it just me or can other people no longer access it?

I think something happened to it, possibly rebuilding data base or the SQL server is down for some reason.

I can not believe the audacity of some of you. Did you happen to check out the other forums? Nah thats too tough when your looking for the quickest way to get youselves off. I don't happen to visit the porn sections on a regular basis because im too busy reading and commenting on productive posts that actually challenge me and make me less ignorant of the world around me. Try any of the forums here, you will find yourself changing your reasons for comming here. If not, well then you don't belong here.

Advice: If you don't wish to donate, then the least I can ask of any of you is to check out the rest of the site (you know, the discussion sections). I encourage you all to find a subject that interests you and start a conversation. I doubt many of you will be disappointed. You undoubtedly read the tagline of the TFP at least once; I'm inviting you to see how well it lives up to it.

Grouchy members will find that their gripes have been heard before, as this is the 3rd time I've had to do this in the site's 3 year history. It's a necessary action to preserve my bank account, the server's hardware and the loyalty of the site's longterm members. I am loyal to those who are loyal to me, so if you show my site the respect I believe it deserves, you will get your eye candy back.

Unfortunately, there is not enough of you to support the continued existence of every single feature of the site, so until we obtain more funds to upgrade our server to handle the traffic and to pay the bandwidth overages, the less important (and most resource-hungry) areas of the site will be shut down."

Those who have donated have the right to ask questions about their situation. Those who have not should not assume the role of "champion of the donators" since they are not one.

Get off Halx back g-holes. The fact is that section gets 10 times the flow of any other site, and in reality all it is is free porn. There are hundreds of ways to create BB's and for cheap too. If you think its easy to run, start your own G-d damned porn board, and see how long it last before you explode.

well its all good if I say so myself....I was all over the site so I ain't mad about losing the porn section even though the links came in quite handy. Once my orange business picks up I wont have any probs donating but till then I can't do jack shit so no complaints coming from me on Halx decision. If you want the porn then DONATE and if your here to leach then DONATE or you will lose it quick. I will send some money when I get paid on friday (probably 20 bucks but hey, it helps)...

What is the guarantee that after an influx of donations this whole situation will not repeat itself? After all you did say that this is the third time in three years. I can understand where you are coming from but there has to be some sort of game plan here other than donate to get your eye candy back. I am new to the forum and will donate because I enjoy the conversation here. It is unfortunate to see sections stripped without notice however.

I'm still new to this Forum, and came becuase of disscusion while the tittie board was down and thought it was something new after many revisits.

So, I have heard that you have to be so active to get into certian boards. Maybe the Erogenous Zone should become one of those.

I don't think you should have to pay to get in, just participate in the other aspects of this site. And this would hurt a lurcker like me, but I think that those who are true to the site will have the erogenous zone as the place the visit before the go to sleep after posting. Cause thats what I do :)

Some folks seem to be unclear on what a "donation" acutally is. Some of you seem to be confusing it with a "purchase."

donation : the act or an instance of donating : as a : the making of a gift especially to a charity or public institution b : a free contribution : GIFT

A donation is a gift. You get nothing in return except a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart.

I'd imagine those of you bitching about this are the ones with the least amount of clue reguarding the resources necessary to keep a site like this going.

Thanks for the freebies, if they come back, 'great', if they don't 'not great'. Ultimately one has to appreciate the TFP and appreciate that it needs cash. I am on a high-speed connection. Because of inadequate server power to handle all users, I was experiencing an avewrage of 5-minutes per page load. Donations will be pooled and used to purchase a new server. Once we have a server that is powerful enough to handle all the traffic we had before the shutdown, we will restore full access. You base doubts on the fact that this is the third time in three years. The fact is, it came back the first two times. The first time, enough donations came in that we were able to upgrade to a faster configuration.

The simple fact is that the porn is not the main focus of the site. The main focus is the members who actively participate in the forums. That is the part of the site that we want to promote and emphasize. We'd like to leave it open to everyone and let them all have their way, but the fact is that something has to go if the site can't support everyone. The people who contribute to the TFP and make it a community are the ones who get preferential treatment. If people don't like that, they are free to stop visiting the site. After all, everyone who does not own the server is merely a visitor. I dontated, but I don't own part of the server, therefore I am a member who has been chosen to help run the site. I don't have a contract, I don't get paid, I just help out because I want to help the site keep running. I am free to leave at any time. I can say, "Sorry, I'm not going to be here anymore," and my account will lay dormant until the end of time; If Halx thinks I'm becoming a problem, he can ban me in three clicks and show me that I'm not welcome here anymore. After all, I'm just a visitor.

I don't know if this will do any good, but I might as well give it a try. Last night, afte taking 20 minutes to log in, I raised the issue and suggested that the porn be removed until we could get a faster server. It was discussed briefly, our staff came to a consensus, and Halx made the final decision to pull the plug. The point of saying this is that I am just another visitor, not the owner of the server, not an admin, and I was the one who raised the issue. If you want to give someone shit for the decision, maybe I'm the one to aim at.

The first time the porn got pulled, I frowned a bit, looked around at everything else the TFP had to offer, and decided that it was worth my time to get my hand off my dick and onto the keyboard. I hope that some of you who are frowning now can do the same and see what a great thing we have going on the rest of the board. If you aren't satisfied and don't want to stick around, all we ask is that you do so peacefully not steal the silverware or punch the waiter on the way out.

I appreciate the quality response. It makes sense when you really think about it. I hope you don't feel that my post was in anger for I was just curious about the changes. Im not looking to place the blame on anyone because their are greater problems in life than pulling the plug on porn. Im sure that most will agree. Keep us posted on the progress if you will!

There are 100's of other free sites if all you want is porn. At least here you can have a good read or a laugh. Probably safer to view this forum from work PC's now the porn has gone too.

Fair enough. I'd suggest letting only the donators access the EZ, as an incentive to make people donate, because then they know that if they donate, they get their porn back.

Thanks for everyone's understanding. The main point that I wanted to get across is that there are other ways to earn back your access. We desire meaningful participation above all. Go out into the forums and get involed responsibly. Make sure you read the rules of the forum in the Newbie board first, though. We have a promotion system that is based on performance review. I do guarantee, though, that if you do get approved to gain access to the EZ again, it wont matter to you nearly as much as the rest of the forum.

One thing to keep in mind, if you have been a member since 2003 and you are still a rookie, don't expect much sympathy. If your total post count can be counted on one hand after you have been here more than a month, don't expect much sympathy.

Do you have to donate money to have "full access"? No. Do you have to contribute? Yes. Think about it, you may just be enlightened.

Let me just say that i support your decision 100%.

I find this forum to be done very well and moderated fairly. What people are upset about is the lack of free boobies, not the forums. Last time this happened was when the server was being changed and couldn't handle the traffic which not only made sense but got people looking around besides at the boobies.

If you don't like it perhaps you should make your own forums, find your own bandwidth and give it away for nothing.

I can understand why it was taken down. Seeing "1 viewing" , next board "2 viewing", next board "5 viewing", then the Titty Board is "70 viewing". Kinda rediculous, eh? I'll admit I came here for the Erogenous Zone, but all I had to do was scroll up to find all the other sections. And believe it or not, there's a lot of content on this site that isn't porn related. It cost alot of money to run a popular forum...expecially with all the pictures here. My old man has a sports forum with 5000 members and I think he pay 500 or more bones a month just to keep it up and running...Only income he gets from it is donations. He puts alot of time and effort into it also. It's his baby.

I'll bet a million bucks the erogenous zone is still there...but when there are to many freeloaders, it gets to expensive. So the people who've been around a while and are a part of the community here, they've earned a right to free eye candy al la erogenous zone...They have access to it.

Unfortunately I could clasify myself as being one of the freeloaders.

I've never seen a webmaster/owner call members leechers though. Must not really need the donations or really doesn't care to get more positive traffic.

Also...My Dad puts a little *contributor* tag under everyone's UserName when they donate. It should give everyone just another good reason to donate to this site.

He to has a dark place for the loyal members....just not as kick ass as this one. It's a professional sports website, probably the biggest and most popular on the net. But it started as a sport site and didn't have the boobie thing going up until recently. So the "erogenous zone" isn't nearly as good as this one

I'd post more here...but my home is at a different forum. Truthfully, I was here for the boobs, man. If a donation will get me back to the boobs, I'll be glad to do it. I just don't have time to post on two different forums and get to know all of you guys in this wonderful community.

I hear you dude. It's the other way around for me though. I can donate, but I have another forum I spend my posting time in. I've been there since around 99. I agree that everyone should be more a part of the community. Some people don't want to be a part of anything and see the internet as a place to look at porn and beat their meat sticks off. Most of those people that we lost don't contribute anything thing to the site. They sign in, jerk off, and leave without ever posting anything. They're the reason the server's been slower than shit the last few weeks. All that has ever been asked of our members is to donate, or post outside of the EZ every once in a while. It's not an unreasonable request considering the amount of content that is being provided. We've run the site this way for a long time, and there are a ton of people who are willing to chat everyone once in a while. Stay and enjoy yourself, or leave. It's your call.

And posting porn in entertainment would completely defeat the purpose of what's going on.

Maybe it's just me, but when someone gives you something for free, and then takes it away because he can't afford to give it to you for free anymore, you don't bitch and moan. I'm an offender. I thought that just by donating the money when it was needed was all I needed to see the porn. I admit my guilt and appologize. My stats do stink - long member and very little contribution in posts. I tried posting a few (note not many) and never got any responses. I do really like the site and I'm going to make an effort to contribute to others posts. I still would like to donate the funds I was going to before, even knowing I will have to make a difference in my post count before being considered for the access.

Alright...2 cents here. This *is* a porn site, get over it. I visit all the forums routinely, and it's easy to see from the member count in each forum that EZ has all the traffic. If it wasn't a porn site, cutting access to the porn wouldn't cheapen the bills.

In fairness to those of us that come here for the porn, we only have the one hand available for counting.

A couple of comments from this perspective: while the EZ is the best damn free porn resource on the net, I can certainly understand (and from my previous experience sympathize) with the decision to yank it when it impinges on the available resources (think about the web as a whole - how fast would <i>that</i> be if its entire Erogenous Zone suddenly disappeared?).

I personally don't have much of an interest in "online communities" and their associated trappings, so I was pretty much coming here just for the porn; though I am certainly not going to begrudge someone their decision about how to manage their own site.

The Links Board seemed to have a lot less traffic than the rest of EZ (seemed like it was more or less in line with the rest of the forums - though I could be wrong of course) - would it be feasable to just bring that one section back? Of course it mostly specialized in stolen passwords, which probably makes it the most iffy section.

I for one would like to thank Halx and everyone else who realizes the EZ had to go. I admit, I'm mostly a lurker here, and I did hit the EZ, but that's not where I mostly lurk.

Lemme tell ya, lurking when the forums are as slow as they had been was tough. :thumbsup:

Jesus Christ! If you can't stop wanking long enough to at least browse through the other sections of the board then quit bitchin. This board is great. The fact that Hal lets us use this source for free is amazing at best. Personally, I'd be happy if Halx left off the titty board for good or just made it part of the rewards for contribution (whether it be posting or donating money). Also, Halx has friends that can help him in all aspects of this board, whether it be programming or otherwise. I'm not the greatest member but I for one hope to watch the TFP grow and evolve for many years to come. If you want to bitch because you can't see a friggin pair of tits.. get a fucking life or use your brain and see what this board is all about. Who knows..you might stumble onto something you like.

I admint it.. I lok at the EZ. I have only posted minimaly as I am loathe to do so unless seriously motivated. I think the only true posts I have made were in the gaming section and I enjoyed that topic immensely. I am a Sys Admin for a Telephone Company / Internet Service Provider and I know that Halx isn't lying about costs. Bandwidth of the type he is using is mucho expensive. Server upgrades too are very taxing I assume he is using something clustered and when he says upgrade he isn't talking about just dropping a new stick of ram.. he means he is adding an entire box to the hive mind. Drop him some slack and drop him some cash or just drop off the face of the project. Meanwhile.. he controls the horizontal and the vertical quit yer bitching.

Halx - Maybe you should ask Drew at Fark to remove you from his top boobies section. Being the primo site listed there kinda marks you as a pr0n site to the rest of the world... sort of lets you know where the pre-supposition of your site's true nature comes from eh?

Wow, I had to reread this a few times for it to sink in. If i'm not mistaken, attitudes like this is why that section got pulled. I came here for the EZ initially, but then I started browsing all the other sections and am I glad I did. I come here every day. Granted, I don't post as much as other people, but the community here is amazing. I'm not gonna lie, I visited the Links Board and the Titty Board frequently, but just because they're down doesn't mean I'm going to stop visiting. I haven't donated either, but it's not because I don't appreciate the atmosphere here, it's great. I'm on an extremely tight budget, but I do try to contribute with my posts. Not so much recently because of school and work and not having much free time at all. I'm not sure what my point was here, but the least people could do is contribute to the forums, instead of just coming here, looking at all the free pics on the Titty Board, and then complaining when it's gone. That's my opinion, it may be completely off, take it as you may.

Back in my day(all the way back in sep 03), rookies weren't allowed in the EZ. You had to earn that shit, and in doing so you hopefully learned that it was probably the least stimulating part of the tfp. Cry me a fucking river.

I too came in looking for porn, but I now spend over and hour a day conversing elsewhere. This forum has soooo much to offer, if you guys would give it a chance.

this has happened before and it will happen again. Just get over it guys. I do troll around alot but i have made posts in other forums. You can too! It will be back someday, until then help the site out by participating and donating!

I thought it was just me. If it doesn't return thanks guys and girls for all your contributions.

As a "lurker" (note, few... alright: no real posts to speak of) I can say with certainty that I should have no say whatsoever in how this forum is run. I've read my share of topic both in and out of the EZ and liked everything I read. Two things I have to add to this is:

1) I have resolved to become involved in this community as I am here enough to post my own ideas (this isn't really bragging or kissing ass, I just want to feel better about myself with the whole self labeling "lurker" thing i did.)
2) I am awesome at counting

There really shouldn't be any bitching or moaning about the EZ being gone, I'll still come here without it (as will many, many others, i imagine)

Being rather new at this, I'll attempt to keep it clear and consice:

Plan A:
1) Get a Jar
2) Every time you come to partake of (as the young senator from California calls it)
the eye candy, deposit a nickle
3) At the end of each month, deposit the contents of the jar into your bank account
3b) if you don't have a bank account, you are probably too young to partake of
said eye candy anyway
4) Donate ammount of deposit to this site

Plan B:
Go away and stay there.

For those of you who would like to impune my credibility, I am as guilty as them all. I admit that, but I started my jar. It's actually a claypot, but it will work.

i'm a newb but im here to stay regardless... it's only recently i've realized just how useful the main part of this site is. if you put in just about any topic or word in the search here, you're bound to dig up all kinds of inspiration and advice. and on the off chance you don't, you can start your own thread and get the same from the responses that are bound to flood in from the many members who respond. just try it next time you come up with something you're curious about or when you have to make a decision about something. on the flip side of that coin, you can feel great by actually giving inspiration or advice to people who ask ?'s about things that you know a thing or two about (hope you get a chance to try that toi place hal)... so keep up the great work and let the lotion heads go screw themselves*literally* somewhere else. thank you so much for this place of accelerated evolution.
