Problems posting pics.
Okay, I'll admit; everything I need to know about computers I have not learned yet, or have learned by playing minesweeper.
Anyhow, I have a lot of trouble posting pics. I usually have to resize the photo in photoshop many times before it is the correct size. At some times, I will attach a pic but it will not post, and at other times when I attach the pic, it is in a format that needs to be downloaded. I am lost. My main question is whether or not there is anyway foolproof way to correctly size the image in photoshop from the get-go. I hate having to work for 20 minutes to post a pic. Also, if you know of any reason why the other things I listed are happening, that would be nice, too! |
From what people told me, 600x800 seems to be a browser standard for pics that have a lot of detail.... if you have one smaller that's just of you or something, 375x500 is a good size to stick with.
If you do it by pixel size and not by canvas size, those numbers make sense :) |
Thanks!

Save your picture as a JPEG file then check the file size (right click on it, if you're using windows, go to properties), it should be less than 102kb. If it isn't you'll need to resize again before uploading.
Alternatively, you could create an MSN Group to host your pictures where they give you 3MB of storage for free. I'm not sure how private the groups are though so bear that in mind if you do use it. See Phredgreen's guide in the 'how-to' forum for full instructions. |
If Photoshop won't let you save in jpeg format, choose "Save for Web"
