i'm not sure if i neglected to check some options when i signed up, but every time i post, there are checks at the bottom to "parse url" and to "e-mail notification to me" is there any way to turn these off without having to click them all the time?

i know, i'm lazy, but worth a shot

you can turn email notification off in your user cp options
the parse urls is automatic for everyone
