Total Post Count
Don't know if it's an available option on this message board system, but I would like to see a line under each member's membership level, location, avatar, etc. that shows Total # of Posts to TFP since joining. Many of the phbb based boards do this, and it's fun to see how often people post, etc.
I know you can click on someone's screen name and see their info, but I like seeing it next to posted messages. |
The feature is available, as I see it on other vBulliten systems. However I'm pretty sure it's turned off to prevent bad attitudes from hi posters to lo posters.
At least that is my understanding. |
it was turned off because people became more focused on the post counts instead of the quality of the content of the posts.
|
I can see that. Maybe there are too many members here to make that not matter. I'm a member of other forums where most of the "high post" members treat everyone with respect.

as I remember the amount of posts focusing on post count and what was accesible by having what post count, and the number of times that moderators had to argue that it was the quality of the posts that count - was a lot, but are now far less as a result of not showing that field, what's the benefit of seeing it by the way? |

Who cares how many posts someone has made here? Should I walk around in real life with an LCD tattoo'd to my head that shows how many words I've spoken? Obviously not. Then why would I want to display (or care about seeing) how often I post here? I just don't see the point.

ermm.. yeah sorta..except without the watch :)
it'd be cool to have a lcd tat where you could customize it according to your mood and such. FUCK OFF would be a popular choice I believe :) |
