Hall of Fame?
I got the idea after seeing Nancy's '<a href="http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63379&perpage=40&pagenumber=1">A Nancy of a Different Color</a>' post. I think it would be an awesome idea, and a great way to recognize those contributors who go above and beyond. Let me know what you think.
|
Actually, and not to downplay the amount of work that Nancy did on that post, pretty much anyone that has the stones to post in Exhibition has gone "above and beyond" in my book. Thus making the entire Tilted Exhibition board a "Hall of Fame"...of sorts.
|
Posts that are worth commenting on will always float near the top of the forum. This is why my thread in Portraits was, at last count, three from the bottom.
|
Yeah, that's true, about the cream floating to the top. I didn't think of it that way.

Life's all ready enough of a popularity contest as it is...
|
Exactally, because when I get big like you guys, I won't be popular...hell, I'm already not popular. So guess I have a good start on my typical, being behind in the game. On the other hand, life is not only enough of a popularity contest, it is also just a "bowl of cherrys".
|
that's "cherries," little inconspicuous and forgettable man
|
Thanks, I stand corrected.

I think the idea devoid has is more of a "best of" forum.
I moderate another forum and we keep the best of each forum in a "best of *****" forum. Make for interesting reading seeing old threads that died long ago that are worth reading over again. Even great threads need to die sometime but they should be save for later reading. |
My godness you're weren't joking when you mentioned the hall of fame Devoid - I'm beyond flattered!
However if such a thing is to be created I second the idea that Krycheck came up with - it's more a "oldies but goldies" instead of a Hall of Fame. That way people won't feel competitive and under pressure. |

Who's to say what's "best of" though? What makes something better than something else here? What makes one person's Tilted Exhibition shots better than others? Or what makes one members poll in General Discussion better than anothers?
Like Halx said, we all have to deal with popularity contests in life, let's not bring that here. |
^ Simply put, I agree.
