Tilted Statistics!

No, I don't mean a forum where people talk about math and statistics. I mean a page showing some TFP statistics, like average number of posts per day, how many posts that day, how many new threads that day, etc...

I think these kind of statistics about the TFP will be fascinating and, possibly, a conversation starter. We might talk about how much the board has grown or notice that people go away during the holidays, or something. It shouldn't be hard to implement, either...

1) statistics DO take a lot of CPU power to generate
2) stats are penis extentions to webmasters, so I'd rather not get caught up in that

It'd be cool, sure, but the CPU useage isn't worth it. I like fast TFP....and I've been here long enough to remember how much it sucked when we didn't have fast TFP.

How about having a trial of usage statistics. You could have a weekly updated, or even one off, chart to show how many people are logged on or perhaps how much data is uploaded/downloaded at various times on various days.

Hopefully, people would take note of the usage stats and try to use the tfp more at less busy times, thus smoothing the strain on the server.
