here's what I said in the suggestion for a philosophy board. Just replace the word "philosophy" with "religion".

It is in everyones best interest to keep it in general discussion, because it it there that the most open minds will go, the most closed minds will go, and the most amount of discussion will occur. And we all know how much there is to say about philosophy. There is A LOT to say, discuss, tell, ponder, etc.
