2 Qs - PostGen and Testing Board
1. PostGen - is there an obvious link to this in 'There'? it's a handy thing, and maybe s/b a sticky, or in one of them?
(maybe it is, but not in the 2 'obvious-seeming' ones i checked?) 2. why do we need the testing board when there's a 'Preview Post' button? meh, pls forgive my short-sounding tone, i'm just in a get-to-the-point kinda mood, that's all :icare: |
the testing board is for people who dont know how to use the preview post button, also rexxed threads go there, and misc orther stuff
as for the postgen.. a handy dandy bookmark for ya to have would be http://tfproject.org/tfp/postgen.php when i need it in a pinch i always check phred's TB posts.. he always uses the thing. Hope that helps! |
fair enough, i bookmarked it.
and yeah i also got it from one of phred's threads, somehow i knew that would be the place to look ;) thx for the reply :) |
:) wow. i feel all kinds of special. yep. it's a handy dandy lil tool.

I have a custom made tool that converts links to vB but you can also use Notepad's Replace feature to replace (img> with with [img] as well. It's in the edit tab if you enver used it or just hit CTRL+H
|
The testing board is also for another reason... Sometimes you can post a thread of pics and you'll see them just fine... but no one else will see them. Posting them to the testing board allows you to step away from it, clear your cache, and go back and look to make sure the pics don't rex (at least that's how I've used it in the past).

there are many ways to go about such things, but at the time of the post i was making, the PostGen seemed the handiest. and thx Jadz for the explanation, i suppose it does serve some useful purpose and such. :) Ganguro - there are people who don't know how to use the Preview Post button?  :p |
PostGen - It's at the top in the "forum jump" drop down list on virtually every page of the site!
