How about some Positive Smilies?
 

Hit "quote" below, and then glance to the right. See those smilies? See how sad and negative and mad and orly and EEKy they are? There's one :) and one :thumbsup: among them. Apart from that, it's all :mad: and :shakehead: and :no: and :eek:.

There are many more pleasant smilies hiding behind that "more" link. Is it possible to influence the order in which they're listed? Or choose which ones show up for quick-clicking?

Don't we want more :wave: than :| around here? More :cool: than :grumpy:? More ;) than :sad:?

I have the following requirements for smilies. I have only allowed a precious few exceptions.

Be no taller than twice the normal smilies.
Be no wider than twice the normal smilies.
If animated, only for a few frames.

It's not the selection so much as the order. I'd like some of the more friendly and pleasant ones from the "more" list to show up next to the advanced editor, rather than the current selection of grumpy ones.

I concur with Mr. Bastid. I like positive smilies.

The Thumbs Up doodat always makes me crack a grin.

After looking past the "more" button, I realized that there are a lot of smilies that I just didn't know we had. People don't use them probably because they don't think to click through. Perhaps if the smiley selection could be rotated...? I don't know how feasible something like that would be.

I think the order would have to be changed manually. That's unlikely as a solution to a problem which is, at best, minor. It may be possible to look into changing the lineup's order, but honestly there are larger kettles on the fire right now. It's a someday/maybe project.

But... but my feelings!
