Football Rules For Dummies

Like me! :P

I've always wondered (but haven't been able to look up the answer) what happens (in college football) if a 2-point conversion pass attempt is intercepted & returned for a TD?
Does the D score, or is the play dead once intercepted?

It would be 2 points for the defending team. Also, if an extra point field goal is blocked and returned, it is also two points. The same scenario applys for both college and the NFL.

Uh, No. That is completely false.

The defensive team never can score on a try. As soon as defense gets possession or the kick is blocked or a touchdown is not scored, the try is over. (from NFL.com)

Well, I was incorrect on the NFL part, my apologies, but I was not completely false. In college football what I said is absolutely true.

You are correct re: the posed scenario in college football

Lot's of other quirks to be found at the above link.

Your quote about the extra point kick being blocked and then being able to be returned for a score is true with two exceptions......want to hazard a guess ???
