Glad to see he is gone out of the NFC North, he has definatly burned my um cough "Lions" enough times. I think the Vikings got the better end of the deal, but I guess that depends on what comes of the draft picks they got. What is the general feeling about this in Raider land?

I am a big raider fan and I love the trade. With Jerry Porter locked up on one side, and Randy Moss on the other - plus Kerry Collins, a guy who can throw the deep ball, we are going to be a big vertical threat. Yeah, i kinda hated Moss before - all the antics and sideshows were/are horrible. But the raiders have a history of taking castoffs and making them a team player. Hopefully Moss falls in line.

Moss dis Moss dat...Im not a huge fan of players with big mouths, but I will say this...Randy certainly backs up the shit talking he has done over the years (numbers dont lie). He should be a good fit in Oakland, where a consistant receiever was certainly needed.

No play Ray and Middleton were cut yesterday too....how sweet it is. Now, just get rid of that bum Walker and we will be good. What's he due? 2.5 mil? For what? If he actually manages to stick to his man, he normally ends up with a interference call, either that or he gets burned. Guys not worth a dime.

I was sad that they cut Middleton, just because I liked the guy. The "Let's be Frank" columns on raiders.com were funny. But, he isn't worth what they had to pay him, especially with injury concerns.

ESPN was reporting that they only cut Ray to get under the cap and will resign him to a lower paying deal. He got burned one too many times last season for me to want him on the team at whatever pay.

And as for Walker, meh. Don't care, really. All I can say about the OL is that I'd be happier if Robert Gallery could actually play the position he knows, instead of getting criticized playing a position he's not *as* familiar with.

Yeah, I heard that we might sign No play again too, that would be horrible man, and the guy is trash. He can't read the QB if his life depended on it, and if he could, he can't make a damn tackle (How many times did you see confusion in the secondary? Way more than you should have). As far as Gallery playing his position, I couldn't agree more. Hell, Gallery wasn't the only one out of his position, they whole God damn roster was. Brayton was playing LB for fucks sake!! What we need to do is put Gallery at LT, Sims at LG (to hopefully prevent his numerous false starts), Grove at center, and as far as RG, I can't say as Stone will probably be gone, and Walker at RG...Once we get that RB though, our offense is set, it’s time to put focus on the defense.

What I want to know is why on all the free-agent lists that the sports websites put out, why every single CB on the list is "probably" headed to Oakland. I wouldn't mind another if we trade Woodson, but there are definate other areas that are of bigger concern *cough thefrontsevencantstoptherunatall cough*, *cough whythehellareweplayingthe3-4ughgobacktothe4-3 cough*

Oh, and because I'm not really sure how certain aspects of the salary cap work, if the Raiders do end up finding a sucker to take Woodson, does Oakland have to bear any of the 10.5m that Woodson's paid? Or is that the other teams? I just don't get much of the cap business.

Parella and Wheat were cut today....Jordan was signed for 5 year, 25 million.
Offense is a fucking powerhouse now...time to work on the defense. I agree with you about switching back to the 4-3 and putting our guys back to their natural positions...much more effective. But it's still too early to tell as we don't know who else is going to get cut or signed and so on and so forth.
The only way to get out of paying Cwood the 10.5 is to either trade him or work out a long term contract, otherwise, we're stuck with him.

Here's hoping that the Raiders trade Woodson and use EVERY SINGLE pick they have this year on defence. EVERY ONE. Linebackers. Another corner. Hell, someone to replace no-play Ray (and I played some pretty good safety in my high school days, I'll try out!) haha. no.

Actually, I got burned several times, and was mostly a benchwarmer till my senior year, where I didn't play too badly (4 picks in a 7 game season, I know, seven games, I'm from small town Canada, not a tremendous amount of schools in the area) aww man, I was tied for 2nd in the league. My last game I got two and I wanted so badly to get the third I almost let a big play by me (ended up being brought back by a hold)... one of those moments where you really want that pick, but it wasn't the greatest for the team, ahh. Mistake by me I guess.

But I digress. The raiders, with LaMont Jordan now, are looking nicely on offence. Play action is going to be sweet. The focus is now the defence, and I'd hope that they're better this year than 30th in the league.

I agree, I don't think it's wise to waste any more time on offense, FA or draft. Depending on if Stone get's cut and who will fill his spot, the offense is a f**king powerhouse and will be damn near unstoppable if Collins doesn't manage to blow it for us (which I'm not too confident about). As of now, the 3-4 should be dropped immediately in favor of the 4-3 to get our guys where they belong, this could of course change completely depending on who we end up signing, but as of now, it's simply not a good option. Sapp is damn near worthless at end, Brayton can't do jack sh*t at LB, couple that with the rest of our pathetic LB corps (aside from Clark), and the 3-4 doesn't suit us in the least. Hopefully with this offense, we can keep the defense on the field as little as possible (once again, if Collins doesn't throw his trademark INT's) which was a prime fault of this season.

It sucks that we had to give up our 7th overall, but it’s a much better deal than I anticipated.

We just signed Porter another 5 years as well. Porter, Moss and Curry? That is a fucking killer receiving corps. Now all we need to do is build the secondary and get a stud LB and we will be set...although Woodsons been tagged, it's a high possibility someone will pick him up...if they are willing to pay him top dollar and give up their first rounders...which is going to be risky considering Woodson hasn't played a full season in three years and isn't necessarily the shut down receiver he was in his first several seasons.

I've spoke to several Raider fans and a large majority of them were pissed off for the most part as they don't want Moss due to his sometimes cancerous attitude. I on the other hand am fucking ecstatic as I was hoping for this since the rumors started to fly, providing he doesn't cause trouble in the locker room, he is hands down the best wideout in the league.

Unfortunately I got to get to school and I can't read all the details right now, and I don't think it will be official until early March anyway, but I will check it out when I get back tonight, but as of now....this is fucking great news.
Yes, a solid reminder of why I HATE the fucking Raiders, dirty bastards they are. Their fans are so misguided in their love for football, I hope Al Davis dies soon, so I can fly out and dance on his grave. You guys are still the worst team in the AFC West, so dont worry about it. Once we get Ed Hartwell and Patrick Surtain/Samari Rolle, we will dominate our competition (Diego and Denver). Let it burn, Raiders fans, your still a classless, competitionless, waste of NFL space.

Ouch. I guess for starters, you're right in the fact that the Raiders are still the worst team in the AFC West; being that I can only go on last season. I don't think the Raiders have done anything but improve in the offseason, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but you really sound jealous of the Moss trade.

I'm also going to assume that you're a Chiefs fan, because you listed your "only" competition as San Diego and Denver. You might want to think about that, considering the Chiefs only beat the Raiders by a late touchdown (the first time) and a late FG (the second time). Sure, the Chiefs won, and I'll give them that... but to then state that the Raiders weren't competition is ridiculous. Both were close competitive games.

And, even with the addition of either Surtain/Rolle/Hartwell, the defence in KC is a joke. There are more shootouts at Arrowhead than anywhere else. That doesn't mean that I'm taking the position that the Raiders are any better, but c'mon. The Raiders defence'll still be bad next year, and I'll admit that, even with additions. So will KC's.

Funny that you want Al Davis dead. I think it's funny that he does deals that you wish were done for KC. Too bad for you that Moss will be catching numerous TD passes against the Chiefs next year.

Talk about jealousy. Don't be upset because our offense is going to light up your poor excuse for a defense next season. Don't be jealous because we just obtained the best receiver in the league and the best RB available in FA. Don't be jealous because we have 5 SB appearances with 3 trophies under our belt whereas you only have 2 appearances and 1 trophy. Yes, your team is quite pathetic, and ours was no better last season, but we are overall extremely more successful than you and will more than likely continue to be so. So, rather than blind hatred and jealousy, respect the better organization.

The better organization since when? Sure, a few DECADES ago you guys were considerably more successful. As I recall Kansas City was by far the winnengest team in the NFL during the 90's. Only exception being the year you guys took our QB and got jacked in the Super Bowl by the Bucs. I felt so good inside when we took Curry out, like the fragile man he is. I wish I had a tape of that game, I'd relive the moment over and over. There were days when LA-KC was an intense rivalry, we used to look forward to Raider week all year. Now the Broncos seem to be the larger rivalry. I honsetly you guys get good again, so we can renew our mutual hatred. Ironically, we have an owner of class and good nature, and you have a classless bad natured dipshit.

all time raider record 396-263-11 - .603 win percentage

all time chiefs record 377-308-12 - .540 win percentage

we've been the better organization since the inception of the afl... to the merger of the afl and nfl.

the last super bowl the chiefs went to was super bowl 4.

the last chiefs player to go to the hall of fame was marcus allen, who was a raider first!

we've been better, we are better. you may not like our tactics, but fear the silver and black.

Just saw this thread for the first time. I've lived in MN all my life and been a hardcore Vikings fan the whole time. I've always been pro Moss even with all his antics on and off field. But this season was the straw that broke the camels back. The guy visually brought the team down. I get to spend the whole game 3 rows up on the 45 right behind the Vikings bench, and you can almost hear him spew his garbage about not getting passes, and bad blocking.

I was ready for him to go. So get ready Raiders. Get ready for horrible rush blocking. Get ready for not faking a person out when the ball isn't coming to him. Get ready for half ass practice work outs. Get ready for the best receiver in the game, that will onmly play when he wants too.

That being said, we'll see if this trade is any good. Napolean H. sucked last year, but was good the tear before. 7th pick could be good... We'll see.

Instead of creating a new thread to be harassed by Oakland haters, I'll take the opportunity to post here tha the Raiders just signed DE Derrick Burgess, formerly of the Eagles.

I'm kind of hoping this'll make Sapp and Washington PLAY SOME FOOTBALL and not be content to play sub-par because of the great long term contracts they currently enjoy.

Burgess had a great season with Philly last year, sure he lost a few games to injury... but I'm happy that the Raiders aren't just looking to fix the offence.

*I'll wait for the Raider-haters to flame*.

HA! A great season last year??? He played 12 games with 24 combined tackles, 16 solo tackles and 2.5 sacks. I don't think that qualifies for more than mediocre at best. Not to mention that he missed all but 1 game in 2002 and EVERY game in 2003 with injuries. Hey, I hope he is great for you guys, but he is a pass rusher, not a run stuffer which is what the linemen need to be in the 3-4.

At 6'2" 266lbs maybe he would be better as an LB.

The Vikings and Raiders both got what they wanted here, what more could you ask for in a trade?

Neither one of these teams is going to the Super Bowl next year...and neither would have gone even if they never traded.

The Vikings need to take care of their silly coach first, he's a knucklehead. And the Raiders need to find a way to make Kerry Collins not choke.

All I got to say to WhosTajGray is with the talent you guys did have you guys got where? Thats what I thought no where. If I remember correctly we where called the oldest team in the NFL and we got to the SB the chiefs got to watch us lose in the SB but at least we got there. The cheifs got a great running back and a great offensive line. But besides that there is nothing else. Before you start talking smack on the Raiders please do you homework and look at who has been the better team in the divison. As long as I can remember the Raiders and Denver have been battlling it out more than with the chiefs.

Er, we have the BEST running back and the BEST offensive line. Last time I checked we had the BEST tight end in football too. And think we have a Pro Bowl quarterback. And as of last week, we have a pro bowl safety and a pretty good LB in Kendrell Bell. Word association: Chiefs defense = up and coming....

And you still cant get it done!!! LOL!! Just shows that your team cant pull it out in the long run and with all that talent they still are sitting home watching teams with sorry ass records and sorry ass players making it to the SB.
