Roger Clemens: Hall of Famer, New York Yankee
FROM ESPN:
Roger Clemens took some time out from looking forward to his 300th victory to look back on the first 13 years of his career -- and look ahead to the Hall of Fame and which team he'll represent. Clemens told The New York Times on May 18 that he wants to enter the Hall of Fame as a Yankee. Clemens earned the first 192 of his 298 victories pitching for the Red Sox, tied with Cy Young for the most in club history. But Clemens said he'd like the Yankees' logo on his Cooperstown plaque, the way Reggie Jackson has it. "It's pretty simple, the way I look at it," Clemens told The Times. "I became a Hall of Famer here, with my numbers here and what I've done here, and hopefully 300 will be another big part of that." What do you all think? I like Roger as a Yankee in the Hall. He won his Championships there and had some great moments as a Yankee. |

He will go in as a Red Sox.
The Hall decides what team not the player. He should go in as a Red Sox bad blood nonstanding. He has played what 4 or 5 years as a Yankee? If the Red Sox had spent as much as George he never would have left the Red Sox in the first place. When I think of Roger it is as a Red Sox first and foremost. I might be biased because the couple times I met him he was playing as a Sox and all my autographed stuff is with him as a Sox and I need him to go in the hall as a Sox so it is worth more.. ![]() Art |

The hall does choose, but one of the factors that they consider heavily is the player's wishes.
Winfield took a job with the Padres which is basically a job for life that is VP of Baseball Opperations. Then he decided to go in as a Pad instead of as a Yankee. The Yankees are not free of sin though. Reggie Jackson got a similar job with the Yankees and then decided to go in as a Yank.

That is a good article. He is right about some things, but I guess it will be a wait and see situation.

Clemens didn't get his 300th win today. I was a little disappointed but happy at the same time. I don't want 300 to come against the Red Sox. Hopefully he'll skip over detroit and do it against the cubbies..that would be great. I still say that Clemens should go in as a Red Sox. He has done so much while he was there. Hell while he was there he won 192 games, and threw 20 strikeouts twice. He was the first to do that. 3 Cy Young awards and countless strikeouts. All he needed was the ring.
