Julius Jones
= The Future!
WHOAA!!! Welcome back man! I've been tryin to hold down the Texas fort without ya, been kinda lonely. But yeah, you are correct, Julius Jones has great explosiveness and speed. Now there's a good core group of guys to build around and create a Championship team.
Still should've picked Stephen Jackson ;)

Ahhh, I like the sound of that "Buffalo's First Round Pick" c'mon Cedric Benson.........
Because he lit up my Seahawks for 190 yards?!? Let's see what he does against the Eagles.
About time he started doing what we all thought he would do at the beginning of the season. It'll be fun watching him develop.
he's done more in the past 2 games than what old man george did the whole season.
Exactly. There hasn't been a back in Big D with his explosiveness and vision in a long time. Just hope he learns how the catch the ball a little better. He broke a lot of arm tackles when it mattered most, and I'm sure having the great Dallas line blocking hasn't hurt him the last three games. Larry Allen is steamrolling people this year, and the Hotel is really improving.
Here's to another great game against the 'Aints this week. |
Yikes. Cowboys sure laid an egg today. While Jones has looked excellent, Dallas seriously needs to work on finding a QB. Otherwise, teams will just stack the line and dare Parcells to call a pass.
yea testaverde is a little too old to be running the offense now
I say they lose out the rest of the season and pray that Buffalo gets the smackdown so they can either A.) Get two really good first round draft picks or B.) Trade up really high to get one damn good QB.
Well, the Cowboys are in a really odd situation, IMO. With Parcells as coach, that says to me that they're trying to win now, not build for the future. But if they're trying to win now, they can't do it with a young QB (Roethlisberger's success, be darned). I'd suggest they draft defense and try to land a starting QB in free agency.
Too true, I hear Drew Brees is lookin for a place to stay next year.
Hmmm. Drew Brees. Interesting. He's already had at least one great game at Texas Stadium -- he carved up Abilene Cooper in the process of winning a state championship for Austin Westlake.
The Chargers aren't going to let Brees run after this season. They have 26 million in salary cap available...even with 2 first round draft picks next season they'll have plenty to sign him.
I expect the Bolts to sign him to a lucrative 1-2 year contract and then trade him before that contract expires. This would give Rivers an ample opportunity to develop and make the transition less bumpy for the franchise... Apparently Tomlinson and Gates even went to the front office and told them that he wants Brees back next year. Everyone in that organization, except Rivers, wants Brees back. I want Brees back. Go Bolts. |
I can't blame ya for that sentiment, but Drew Brees doesn't wanna be there, if the player doesn't wanna be there, they're gone.
What makes you think Brees doesn't want to be there? I've heard nothing of the kind...
its just nice to have a jones around here you can actually root for
Why would Brees sign a 1-2 year deal knowing he would be traded ? If I were him I'd milk this Pro-Bowl caliber season and get the biggest juiciest contract I could.
The Chargers organisation showed no loyalty to Brees by drafting Eli etc, so why should he show any loyalty towards them ? |
I don't think the issue will be Brees showing any loyalty. He's due to become a free agent at the end of the year. However, it could all become irrelevant if the Chargers decide to slap a franchise tag on him.
Regardless, whether or not Brees is a Charger next year is the team's decision. |

Bingo. They have the salary cap room...LT is locked up for 7 years...Gates is still in a contract...there is no reason why they will not make sure Brees is around next year. |
The interesting decision will be what to do with Rivers. The Chargers insist they're keeping him, but -- to get somewhat back on topic here -- I wonder what a team like Dallas might offer for him.
I would be less surprised to see the Chargers deal Rivers than I would see them let Brees slip away...it's just a better business decision.
Dallas would probably have to give up at least a 1st and 3rd round pick for Rivers...that would leave the Chargers with 3 first round picks though and that would be pretty tough to finance.. |
Rivers needs to fix that side-arm throwing problem before Parcells will take him.
