I think the fight at the bar was because someone spat on his girlfriend MTY VJ La La

oh carmello isn't squeaky clean anymore.

The fact that Kiki has data showing Melo is drug free, and his friend is fessing up to be the one owning the weed makes it highly unlikely anything will happen to Melo.
I don't even think his image will be tarnished, as smoking weed isn't really looked down on in general IMO. If the "friend" wasn't a friend earlier, he is now for bailing Melo out (assuming it wasn't really his). Either that, or he is an acquaintance that just got a bit wealthier in the last week. |
It may not be looked down by society, but it IS looked down on by any potential sponsors.
In my opinion, you're getting paid several million a year, for fuck's sake wait until you retire, then do all the drugs you want. |

As a Die Hard Denver fan...
We've been fucked for years. |

For instance (assuming advertising works), a collge kid might decide that since Carmello also smokes weed, he can relate and is like him, and thus may buy his product because of this. I certainly agree that drug use is definitely looked down upon by the bigger sponsors, but I wonder if smoking could be a positive selling point to a certain percentage of America's young consumers... Thoughts? |
^^ plus mcdonalds would want him as a spokesperson. Got the munchies? grab a quarter pounder!
|
I heard that he will still face prosecution even though someone else signed an affadavit swearing that it was theirs....ironically, pot is not on the nba banned substance list....guess that just goes to show why we need unions......
|
Just shaking my head laughing..... these days athletes and celebrities of any persuasion can get away with ANYTHING. While the rest of us "citizens" would get fucked.
Someone please explain why we pay these people millions and millions of dollars while true heroes can barely afford to make a living and are for the most part law abiding people. |
Just like when Mike Anderson of the Broncos blamed it on "secondhand smoke."

Gee. A friend left it in his bag. Thats original.
Melo is an idiot. His actions at the Olympics showed what kind of attitude he carries. |
he and ricky williams can be endorsed for high times, funyons, and late night fast food restaurants.
|
the guy had 6 drug tests in the last year and came up squeaky. give him a break and wait till he tests positive like lamar odom did several times.
|

It looks like pro athelete or not, the maximum penalty would be a 100.00 dollar fine. So in this instance no special treatment is required. All states should be so lenient. |

it's so made up, sigh it's ridiculous what celebrities can fabricate when they are famous.
|
I wish my friends would leave bags of weed in my backpack.

I know - it's pretty funny. First he plays like crud in the olympics, pouts the whole time, part of a team of "all stars" that gets routed, cries about larry brown when he returns, then gets busted for pot, and plays like garbage for the first few games for the nugs. Sure, against the pistons he was on fire, moving without the ball, creating his own shot, cleaning up the trash, doing the little things... but it seams he pouts a lot, and resorts to just standing around watching the ball. I think he is kind of a difficult coaching project.
