the "versus" game
 

About every second day, depending on how many people reply,
I'll post a match featuring something (or somebody) who haS to do with sports (stadium, coach, announcer, player, etc) versus a rival something (or somebody) in the sports world. ex:

Pedro Martinez vs. Roger Clemens (star pitchers on rival teams)


You would then vote for who you think is better. And feel free to post your own matches.

so who is the better pitcher? Pedro or The Rocket?

Cool. Kinda like the end showdown of PTI.

I'll take Martinez. First, age. He'll be better for longer. Second, Martinez has better stuff. Sure, he's had some trouble getting going this year, but he has a livelier curve and a faster fastball.

I have to go with The Rocket, he's on my fantasy team (got him *12*th round)

Pedro is the better pitcher today but Roger is the better lifetime pitcher.


Why can I never find these fantasy leagues were the rocket would go in the 12th round.

Over his career, Clemens is better. If you have a big game on the line in the 4th, who would you want as your QB, Brett Favre or John Elway?

I saw something like this in a comedy routine once:

OK, Mike Tyson and Dan Rather. But Tyson has his right arm tied to his left foot, and Rather has a chainsaw.

In their prime id say elway, right now definitly farve.

Farve. Period. He's been in his prime for years and years. Elway never sustained greatness like Farve.

I personally would have pedro. He is simply the best. (in the AL)

For showdown #2, let's stay in the Yankees- Red Sox rivalry. Which is the better stadium? Fenway Park vs. Yankee Stadium.

Pedro, Favre (v before r), and Fenway

Elway is the better QB. Favre is great but he needs to win another one to really compare with Elway.

Elway is the best ever in the NFL.

Fenway is 100x better than Yankee Stadium. The Green Monster owns everything in baseball.

Rather would own up on Tyson because he would say a couple of things and leave mike dumbfounded for a few hours and then he would tell him the time he met Castro and Martin King Jr. and Tyson will pass out with envy.
