Do you see a sweep? I do

L.A. looks like a YMCA fifty year and over league team. Can you Lakers fans please ask your team to atleast make this series competitive? I would think the Lakers would want to win atleast one of these games. This is ridiculous, your team looks silly. Maybe next game you could possibly lose by 15-20 points instead of getting your ass handed to you like tonight.
Please write and tell me all about how the Lakers are just toying with the Spurs, and how the Lakers have them exactly where they want them. Maybe you could run some Phil Jakcson mind smack and tell us that the Spurs looked nervous tonight.
SWEEP, SWEEP, SWEEP, SWEEP, and goodnight now.....

jmf1234 05-07-2003 08:56 PM

I really dont see a sweep. so they were 0 for 2 in San Antonio. just wait till they get two the staples center. And no, im not a lakers fan. that's just my opinion.

buclao 05-08-2003 04:27 PM

I'm not a laker's fan by any means but there is no way there is going to be a sweep. remember, the lakers are the champs.

degrawj 05-08-2003 05:08 PM

ya think? :-)

BulletBob 05-08-2003 05:39 PM

Did you even watch the fourth quarter? I'm positive you didn't judging from the idiotic coments in your post. L.A. only lost by 19 and Shaq and Kobe didn't play in the fourth. I want the Lakers to lose as much as you do but they won't be swept.

raiden1 05-08-2003 07:32 PM

I don't think there will be a sweep, but I do think that the Spurs will get it done in 5. As for the comment "L.A. only lost by 19 and Shaq and Kobe didn't play in the fourth. " I’m almost certain both were on the floor when the Spurs were up by 33 points in the third.

BulletBob 05-08-2003 07:49 PM

Yes, they were but what does that have to do with the final margin and who played in the fourth?

duhgravy 05-09-2003 10:55 AM

There is too many veteran players with play-off experience for the Lakers to be swept. I hate the Lakers, thats just reality.

Prophecy 05-09-2003 10:58 AM

I've already bet out of this with a friend, i'm not going to lose my $ and L.A. is not going to get swept unless all the starters get seriously injured. L.A. still has a chance ppl, don't forget that.

sixate 05-09-2003 09:31 PM

No sweep. Kobe was on fire, Shaq was solid, and they got some help from a few others. Most important. They played some damn defense! Duncan was awesome as always. I love watching him play, but I'd still take Shaq over anyone in the NBA.

Halx 05-09-2003 09:32 PM

Devean George is back!

and so is the Lake Show

dragon2fire 05-09-2003 11:58 PM

ok really

if you gona be a ass shaq=ingnorance at least have the balls to declare who your team is so we can all laugh at you when they lose

god i dont what the lakers to win but you dont have to be such a ass about it

i dont want the lakers to win because i root for the underdog

BulletBob 05-10-2003 09:12 AM

I don't want the Lakers to win because I've been a David Robinson fan since I was like 8.

sixate 05-11-2003 02:18 PM

Tied series! http://www.boomspeed.com/sixate/yelclap.gif

Kobe was great, Shaq almost fouled out the entire front line of the Spurs. Duncan, as usual, was incredible.

jmf1234 05-11-2003 02:20 PM

the steal kobe made at the end was amazing, i must admit. But Lakers still suck.

maximusveritas 05-11-2003 02:55 PM

This is gonna be a good one. EVerytime someone gets the Lakers against the wall, they come back fighting stronger. The Spurs have got their work cut out for them.

JoeyB 05-11-2003 03:01 PM

Okay, I've been gone for a few days...so maybe I could use an explanation.

Can you sweep a team when the series is tied???

Just curious.

maximusveritas 05-11-2003 03:10 PM

he posted this when the Spurs were up 2-0 and the Lakers had gotten whipped. Things have changed since then.

Halx 05-11-2003 03:42 PM

Arrrrrgh.. I have class tuesday night! !@#$%^

dragon2fire 05-11-2003 03:42 PM

you notice or at least i do

whats your team shaq = ingnorance

what

do i hear crickets

Prophecy 05-12-2003 06:00 AM

Hell yeah L.A. is back in the running!!! Now we just have to win on the road. And the home team winning all the games in the series doesn't help. Any see how pissed Robinson was when fouled out? I didn't see the play but I saw his reaction afterwards...

I was thinking the same thing.
He talks all big when the Lakers lose, but when they win he doesn't have a word to say because his only purpose is to piss people off and he can't do it when the Lakers win. I just laugh at guys like that. http://www.boomspeed.com/sixate/rofl.gif

I'm still not convinced that LA will make a comeback though. It's gonna depend on how well the role players play. When they do nothing the Lakers suck.

Prophecy 05-12-2003 12:10 PM

true the role players do play a huge part, but the same could be said of any team. Thats why they are a team. Still I think it would go long way toward winning the series if we can stop Duncan or just get him to play half as well as he has.

holtmate 05-13-2003 04:30 AM

I think that the NBA Champ will be coming out of this series. The Lakers have too much experience, and the Spurs have been on fire lately. The Kings or the Mavs might make a series of it, but they'll fall, and barring a miracle, the West will win again...

sixate 05-13-2003 08:22 PM

Waiting for Mr. ignorant to show up now that the Lakers lost a game.

Great game to watch. I can't belive that Horry missed that shot. He always makes those. Anyway, the series is gonna go 7. I don't think the Lakers are gonna win.

BulletBob 05-13-2003 08:29 PM

I can believe he missed it. He's 2/35 from downtown in the playoffs, 0/15 in the series. Incredible game though, my Spurs keep finding new and inventive ways to blow leads.

dragon2fire 05-13-2003 10:32 PM

they did that last year also bullet bob

Halx 05-13-2003 11:00 PM

things keep getting interesting..
it's hard to comprehend the Lakers falling short right now... i've been conditioned by 3 years of winning.

Prophecy 05-14-2003 05:03 AM

still it was an amazing run we had, coming back from that far down. i just pictured L.A. winning as soon as Horry shot the ball :(

maximusveritas 05-14-2003 12:40 PM

That one shot may have decided the series. The Lakers are never out of it though. They've been in this spot before and have the players to win it.

Prophecy 05-14-2003 01:01 PM

true, i just lady luck shines on us the next to games, cuz all that last shot was luck on the part of the spurs, sorry but Parkers hand didn't have a thing to do with altering the shot...
Horry just didn't get it to bounce in :(

BulletBob 05-15-2003 12:14 PM

So any predictions for tonight? We all know the Lakers are going to win, as the NBA would never let this end without a game 7. So I'm going to say this is going to be more lopsided foul wise than game 6 of the Sac/LA series from last year was.

Steviefranchise 05-15-2003 12:31 PM

I wish they would just let these guys play. It reminds me of last year. The Lakers won the first game in Sacramento, and the league freaked out thinking there was going to be another ho-hum sweep, and no one would watch. So the next couple of games were given to the Kings by the refs. Then the league realized that Sacramento was a pretty good freaking team themselves and had to help the Lakers out. Game 7 was awesome because they let them play.

I hope the Lakers play a good game and arent helped by poor officiating so we can go into a game 7 where you know they will let them play. 1 game for all the marbles.

Prophecy 05-15-2003 12:34 PM

I'm counting on L.A. to win this one, but its gonna be an ugly game anyway you look at it...

Halx 05-15-2003 02:01 PM

LA BABY!!!

I am so pumped!

I think they've shown that if they put our hearts into it (and I mean REALLY) then they can completely dominate a game. The problem that they face is not their opponent, but their own team. Which Laker team will play tonight?

sixate 05-15-2003 03:57 PM

*hopes that Horry breaks outa his slump tonight*

dragon2fire 05-15-2003 05:34 PM

this seris is going to seven

who gona win

thats a very good question

BulletBob 05-15-2003 06:31 PM

How about that Lake Show???

Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Hah

degrawj 05-15-2003 06:37 PM

wooo hooo!!!! and down go the lakers!!!!!!!! finally!!!!

maximusveritas 05-15-2003 06:48 PM

Laker-haters everywhere, rejoice!:D

sixate 05-15-2003 06:53 PM

I didn't even watch the game. :(

I just realized that I missed it god damnit. All I know is they lost and I'll be happy as long as Dallas gets rid of the Queens. At least I won't have to hear that the Lakers are a better team than the Bulls cause they aren't.

quest1mark 05-15-2003 07:16 PM

man..although i hate the lakers as much as the next guy..it was tough seeing grown men cry.

i totally agree with you man. if Kobe didn't play for the lakers, i would probably love him. he has really grown as a player in the past couple years. he used to be a totally arrogant ass. now he's just arrogant, but not so much any more. it was tough seeing him emotional at the end. we finally got to see the human side of Kobe Bryant.

Pathetic wasn't it? Maybe Kobie should stop doing so many commercials and concentrate on basketball.

You can laugh all you like, but I get the final word. Your team cried tonight! The Spurs made your team Cry! Anway, I had to take care of finals this week, and talking smack was not my priority. Since I am out on break, I am not going anywhere, but I can not say the same for your team. They cried!

The crying team, that's who came out.

My fellow Hater!!! I am glad to see you are enjoying this wonderous event. REJOICE LAKER HATERS< REJOICE!!!! The evil Lakers have been crushed.

snowy 05-15-2003 10:55 PM

Seeing Kobe cry was pathetic. It's BASKETBALL. It's not like your mom died or something. Jeez.

teph 05-15-2003 11:20 PM

OK, first thing's first: I love the Lakers (well, most of them). I live in Atlanta, and no self-respecting person would cheer on the Hawks.

I don't see how anyone can prod Kobe or anyone else after having lost (or won, for that matter). To these guys, it isn't just basketball; it's a lot more than that. They aren't crying over bonuses missed or trophy spots left empty; this is something that they kill themselves for the entire year - not just during the season.

As someone who's played sports his entire life, I can completely understand it, and, truth be told, I have also broken down after games. The absolute hardest thing to take is to see the biggest guy you know cry like a little girl in the middle of a football field after a championship game.

Cut the man a little slack.

Dude, I'm still laughing at you. You're hilarious. You can talk all the shit you want, but because you can't say a word when the Lakers win a game your words are meaningless. They did win three tirles in a row and nobody can take that away from them. If they didn't have a shitload of injuries they would still be playing, but shit happens and their season is done. I said a long time ago that I almost didn't want the Lakers to win this year just so people don't think they're better that Jordans Bulls. From the sounds of you don't even like basketball you just hate the Lakers. I just love uneducated basketball fans. http://www.boomspeed.com/sixate/icon_rolleyes.gif

Prophecy 05-16-2003 05:07 AM

It was sad to see the Lakers go down like that but they just didn't show up to play the whole game. Guess its time to focus on nxt year :( At least we didn't get sweept by the Jazz...I hated that year...

And Sixate it's looking like the Queens are going to fall to Dallas from here...

dragon2fire 05-16-2003 11:53 PM

well put sixate

this man knows nothing about basketball

nothing at all

haha what a sports moron
