Wow...I think everyone's bracket is busted...

Yeah...

It's insane.

djtestudo 03-21-2004 04:53 PM

I'm out two Final Four teams, including both in the Championship, plus another four Elite Eight teams. Only Okie State and Duke (ugh...) are keeping me from total bracketological humiliation.

JoeyB 03-21-2004 04:56 PM

I still have 3 of my Final 4, but screw it, I'm rooting for UAB....I'll take the Cinderella over being correct any day!!!

sixate 03-21-2004 05:51 PM

My bracket was destroyed yesterday, and it only got worse today.

I'm not complaining because this is why March Madness is so fucking great, and the reason it will always be better than NCAA football and their BS Championship. The BS is so predictable, where this isn't.

MontanaXVI 03-21-2004 06:18 PM

Maryland, St Joes, Duke, and Kentucky my final 4 that looks really fuckng smooth now don't it. Not to mention the fact I was riding 'Zaga out a ways too.

yes Six better than the BCS

BigGov 03-21-2004 08:19 PM

I had UNC making it to the Elite 8, so basically by default I had them winning the championship. (Well, if Felton, McCants, AND May are all hot for 40 minutes, they could beat them...Well, if Felton, McCants, AND May are all hot for 40 minutes, they could beat them...)

FUCK YOU TEXAS! (and Sean May)

Go_AVS 03-21-2004 09:47 PM

my brackets suck but I would rather see the upsets...

Go Nevada & UAB!!

How about a repeat from the Orangemen...

Nimbletoe 03-21-2004 10:24 PM

Kentucky and UNC whored my bracket. I made some smart picks, but man, kudos to the person that guesses this bracket right, other than dumb luck.

Jadey 03-21-2004 11:00 PM

Well, I'm sorry to hear of everyone's misfortune, but I'm not doing too bad in my bracket. By my calculations I MIGHT be winning the pool I'm in, but I won't know for sure until I get back to work tomorrow.

I still have 7 of 8 Elite 8 teams, and 3 of my Final Four still in it. Stanford is the only one that's hurt me so far.

I'm still worried though cuz I have Oklahoma State beating Illinois (I'm a UofI fan) in the final.

I think Weber is a better coach than Self was and am hoping the team has matured since last year.

But the way things are going for the entire tourney I'm not confident. One bad day can blow everything to hell.

forseti-6 03-21-2004 11:34 PM

Oh man 3 out of my final four teams are out. Miss. St, Ky, NC State. I have pitt still going. It's sad.

Exactly.

My bracket got all kind of fucked up too. But it's been a great tourney. I'd like to see Duke take it all as they're my favorite team, but seeing Xavier going so far has been great. Lionel Chalmers is from my hometown and played his freshman year at my friends high school. He had a fantastic game.

MadHatder 03-22-2004 05:55 AM

It looks like I'm going to win the bracket this year. I'm in the lead right now, and most of the other people have either Kentucky or Stanford with the championship. I hope I win too. Last year I lost by 1 point, and I mean the tie-breaker by one. The winner had 1 closer then me :(.

Bigt6909 03-22-2004 08:27 AM

down to two teams in the final four, man this is a crazy tourney.

absorbentishe 03-22-2004 12:37 PM

My St. Louis Bracket is hosed completely, adn my Phoenix has only UConn left. Oh well, love the turney non the less.

onetime2 03-22-2004 01:15 PM

In my office pool, I've got a few teams still left in it. Pitt, OK State, and Uconn are the only ones I've got picked to get to the final game (on two different bracket entries). On the third entry in the pool I still have Vanderbilt but only into the Final Four and there's no way I can gain enough points on that one to get in the money.

AL9045 03-22-2004 04:31 PM

I don't see why people actually bet on this, you really have absolutely no control on this as opposed to Fantasy sports, where at least your decisions might reflect in the final standings.

soccerchamp76 03-22-2004 05:54 PM

GO XAVIER!!!

My future college (next year) is kickin' ass, let's just hope they can push for more and beat Texas.

Ace_O_Spades 03-22-2004 06:01 PM

I knew nothing about NCAA basketball when i made my picks in the bracket with my college football team

my bracket was horrendously destroyed on the first day

Artermis 03-22-2004 06:21 PM

My bracket is still in great shape.

Georgia Tech - check still on course.

Texas - check still on course.

Connecticut - check still on course.

Oklahoma State - check still on courrse.

Texas over Georgia Tech wins me 10K at ESPN!!

LMAO.

College football is way better than basketball with or without the BCS.

Waterdown bullshit is what you get out of the basketball. If they can every deal with that then I will agree that it is better or at least on par until...no dice.

Your post makes Linguo the Grammar Robot cry

but honestly I find a bracket to be better than the rankings in football... i dont know very many fans of how the NCAA Football does their championships

archer2371 03-22-2004 07:59 PM

I'm ok, my only miscues were Kentucky, Texas Tech, and Maryland, so at this moment in the bracket, I'm 45-3, but that loss column will increase because of the FF status I deemed upon Kentucky, and EE status I bestowed upon UMD, overall, not a bad run so far.

Yeah, it truly sucks that every team has a chance to win the National Championship, instead of the BCS where the only teams with a chance are either in one of the six big conferences or Notre Dame.

Seriously, if you are going to rip on someone for their grammar...at least make sure yours is perfect.

BTW where did I say I was a fan of how NCAA football does their championship. The sport itself is better, as is the product but of course this is just my opinion.

I agree completely. Why in hell can't they let the same people pick the football bowl match-ups, and arrange them into similar play-off brackets? Football is played with such emotion and intensity, but they leave the biggest games of the year up to a fucking computer!

I enjoy watching football much more than b-ball, but when bowl season comes around, I end up watching many less games then I watch during March Madness.

Oh yeah, GO ORANGE!!!

Xavier with Chalmers, Sato, Dollman, and Finn among the unsung cast of others is a team on a mission. This coming from a UC fan...I think X can win it all if they keep playing like a team possesed. They just absolutely PASTED St. Joe's and in the tourney in these two games they've dispatched worthy opponents in Louisville (weak C-USA I know) and Mississippi St. (but the SEC isn't showing all that well either -- BUH BYE KENTUCKY!!! :D ).

X is on the dark horse that could carry them to the final four and more. Just like the barber says...."Neeeeeeeeext!" *staring right into the heart of Texas*.

Texas down......Neeeeeeeeext up is Duke

soccerchamp76 03-28-2004 04:50 PM

Well.......shit

I think the major factor was Anthony Myles fouling out with 12+ minutes left. He was the inside man.

Ace_O_Spades 03-28-2004 05:50 PM

Duke.... the team everyone loves to hate

heccubusiv 03-28-2004 06:49 PM

that fake charge towards the end of the game was the final straw in the Xavier game... duke got an early x-mas present in that game

holtmate 03-28-2004 07:26 PM

That "charge" changed the course of the game. As a UCinti fan, I'm used to seeing that go against the 'Cats, but having it happen to X was a shock. They got hosed.
Anyways, it's been a great March. My bracket's shot, but the games have been excellent!!

Ace_O_Spades 03-28-2004 07:34 PM

in my opinion one play can never be blamed for the loss... its a team sport, and if you had played better on the whole for the entire game you wouldnt need to blame it on one call

thats why i never point a loss at one specific play or event

heccubusiv 03-28-2004 10:37 PM

But Ace the play was a lot bigger than it, it lead to a 5 point swing and put Chalmers into fall trouble at 4 so he could not play aggressive. If it was called a block then he shots the foul shots and the mentinoum does not fully swing to the Duke side. I am not saying it was the reason they lost, I am saying the play was the turning point in the game.

Ace_O_Spades 03-28-2004 11:45 PM

if the play of Chalmers is the hinge of their team, they dont deserve to be in the final four

you make fine points about turning points, but great teams find ways to shift the momentum back
