Keyshawn Johnson...
So who do you think will aquire Keyshawn? I know that Phili is looking for some new wide recievers.. but I've heard rumours of them trying to get T.O....
|
I've heard the Ravens have interest, but he'll cost too much for what he gives, so I really am not sure I'd want him.
|
I heard he could go back to the Jets.
I dont know whether I like the idea of it or not... he is exactly the type of big target receiver the Jets need, but he comes with a lot of baggage. |
As a Jet fan, I really dont want Keyshawn back... grr he caused too much trouble when he was here, I think he'll just ruin the team chemistry that Chad has goin..
|
I've heard jets as well. I also think (if they would pay him, which i don't think they will) he would like to play for little bill in new england.
|
has anyone heard anything about Terrell Owens, and where he's going?
|
I know he's said he's interested in Philly and Baltimore, but not sure where else.
|
Also as a Jets Fan, we do not want Keyshawn"Poision Pill" Johnson back. I do not think he will make it as a plyer under Bill B. in New England. I belive he might play for either Baltimore or Dallas. There are big rumors that Galloway will be cut for Salary Cap Reasons.

Philly and Dallas seem like good places to go, Carter and McNabb really need a go-to guy. |
But do you think that he's still a go to guy? I think that he's a good receiver but I wouldn't consider him a go-to guy... I think he would be a good number two receiver somewhere |
His ego is too big, he has to be the go-to guy or else he'll flounder.
|
Regardless of where he goes its going to be for less money and he's going to make a far smaller impact that Keyshawn thinks...
One of the worst No. 1 picks in the history of the draft. |

He should go back to Parcells in Dallas.
|
keep him away form indy
we dont need some one like him runineing chemistry |
Who cares, his mouth isn't worth his paycheck.
|
Terrell Owens is only similar to Keyshawn Johnson in that they are both available. I can't think of one team that would want KJ's attitude coupled with his limited productivity. At least TO is a big time playmaker, and I would much rather see him with Dallas than Keyshawn. Steve Young (his former teammate) commented that TO just needs a father figure; who else is better for that than Bill Parcells? He brought out the best in Lawrence Taylor, and he was way more troubled than Owens.
Its going to be a hell of an offseason all around the league. |
Just for the record, Ray Lewis told the TV audiance during the Pro Bowl that TO doesn't want to go anywhere else but Baltimore :)
|
I think that Keyshawn will sit on the shelf for most of the off-season, and when his price finally comes down, he will wind up in Dallas. They have a good receiving corps, but they need someone who can make catches on third down, which may be the only thing that Keyshawn can do.
|
johnsmith... I think you might be right... and you might have something going with TO too... his price is pretty damn high... and what about Indy and their situation with Manning... they are going to be paying him out the ass...
|
Bigt6909, don't forget that Harrison is a free agent as well, Indy may have some serious cap problems on their hands really quickly. I think that T.O. will wind up in Baltimore where he won't have to share the offensive spotlight like he would in Philly. Jamal Lewis made a case this year, but lots of people still don't know who he is. In Philly, T.O. would have to share with McNabb, something he has demonstrated he is not good at. I agree with johnsmith, Keyshawn will be in Dallas, but at a huge paycut. The only thing that makes me doubt it is that Parcells got rid of him once, I don't know if he will want him back, but he needs a possession receiver.
|
Disclaimer: Long time Buccaneer season ticket holder.
I don't care where the F#$@ that slow, no YAC'ing, back stabbin', coach yellin', finger pointin', SOB ends up. The Bucs will take a 6 Mil salary cap hit if they get rid of him. If he doesn't play his cards right, the Bucs could just declare him inactive like they did last year and just let his ass sit on the bench. It won't cost them any more one way or another. The Bucs have been trying to trade him but everybody knows that the Bucs don't want him so they don't want to give anything. Keyshawn is a smart businessman and will see that in order for him to further his career he is going to have to 'play ball' with the owners at some point. I don't care if we get a 6th round draft pick and a latte from Starbucks for him, just get something and get his ass out of town. Rant over. |
I am a Philly fan and I sure as heck don't want K. Johnson., T.O. yes K.J. no way
|
so from what i'm getting... no one wants KJ... man that's kinda funny... does anyone think anyone he'll get signed?
|
I guarantee he will get signed, he is too good not to. No one is saying he won't get signed, just that he won't get signed by a premier team as a #1 receiver. He just needs to get knocked down a few pegs and accept that he is, at best, a second receiver. The problem is that he has the mouth and ego of a superstar and can't back it up on the field.
|
He won't get signed unless he drops his asking price.
Like people said, his production on the field doesn't translate into his salary demands. |
Whoever takes him, I will be laughing . There is way too much receiver talent out there for a team to even risk signing this cry baby average receiver.
|
I think getting put on the Inactive List has at least slightly deflated Keyshawn's ego.
|
I know that KJ has issues off the field but like i said before he would make a great number two receiver. I hate to admit this but I think he might fit in Detriot. They need to do something about their receivers, Bill Schreoder (sp?) couldn't catch a ball last season if his life depended on it, and with Charles Rogers they might have something if they bring KJ in. But I haven't heard any interest from the lions...
|
Unfortunatley, anyone with a shred of talent sounds good to the lions. Being a life long fan, we're so lacking of talent in detroit its stupid.
|
I'd like to see KJ join the vikings. If only to show him who the star and flashlight really are. I think if he could get his shit together he would make a great addition to the vikings recieving corps.
|
I did not see anyone posting what I read the other day on some forums, that yes believe it or not may actually have the option of going back to TB!!!@@@!!!
Yes that is what I said TB, now why "Chuckie" would take him let alone even want him back is beyond me but they said that this could in fact be an option, one could only assume it would be a sign and trade deal like is done so often in the NBA where a player is signed only to then be traded away to another team in a multi player swap. |
I'm pretty sure he's under contract for next year anyway, which is why he'd be going back.
If he was treated like this in a contract year, I doubt if he'd ever even desire to return there even for games as an opponent. |
Honestly i dont think Keyshawn is that good he rarely gets a touchdown pass , hes honestly overpaid and has a big mouth.
|

He IS overpaid and has a big mouth, but he does what he does well. |
He is a possession receiver, that has always been his game.
His YAC is horrendous. He had some really key drops this year. He had a couple of fumbles that hurt too. He does not have game changing ability like the other #1 receivers - Owens, Moss, etc. The new GM Bruce Allen, has said 'he will not play here next year'. Cagey. He could still just leave him on the inactive list. It won't cost any more whether he plays or not. It would be a shame to not be able to get anything for him though. |
Quick Update:
Keyshawn-for-Galloway could happen The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have found a perfect scenario to unload the headache that has been the Keyshawn Johnson situation. Not only have they found a team, Dallas, which may want Johnson in a trade.... they may get a receiver with a high-priced salary to fit Johnson's in return. On Monday night Johnson confirmed to the St. Pete Times that the Bucs have granted his agent Jerome Stanley permission to speak with the Cowboys about a deal that could bring Joey Galloway to the Buccaneers. Both Johnson and Galloway are high-priced wideouts whose teams are likely to dump them if they can't work out a trade. Galloway is 5-11 but would give the Bucs the speed receiver they've been looking for, plus he can return kicks. Galloway has three years left on a seven-year, $42 million deal and Johnson would still cost the Bucs $7.1 million of accelerated signing bonus money next season. The Times reports that Dallas owner Jerry Jones came to Tampa Bay GM Bruce Allen with the trade idea at the NFL scouting combine last week. |
Yeah...that's a HELL of a trade for Dallas. Let's trade a receiver who makes a lot of money but is worth it, for a receiver who makes a lot of money but isn't worth it.
Jerry Jones is back. |
The thing I would like to point out about this story is that Keyshawn is the only source listed. It doesn't say anything about what the Bucs or Cowboys ahve to say about it, except where Keyshawn quotes them. I would lose a lot of respect for Parcells if he did this. I can understand picking Keyshawn up(at a greatly reduced price) to add to their receiver corps, but not to trade away their speed receiver.
|
Great. This is the last thing I wanted to hear. Why are the Cowboys going after Keyshawn when they need a runningback? I hope this is just a rumor, because I don't see how he can even compare to Joey Galloway in any area, except age. The last thing Bill Parcells needs is a big ego on the team. Please Dallas/Jerry, anybody but Keyshawn.
|
I think johnsmith makes a good point. Of course Keyshawn wants everyone to think he is the subject of trade talks, he is floundering. The more people talk about him, the less chance he'll be forgotten and fade away. I think the Cowboys haven't denied it because they don't want to dignify it with a response.
|
I bet Keyshawn will land in Dallas for 2 reasons. The 1st being that Parcells was his favorite of all NFL coaches; and 2nd because he hates the media, and the second reporters started asking questions of him going to Dallas he got extremely over defensive.
P.S. HOW BOUT DEM' COWBOYS!!!!! |
Keyshawn may have loved Parcells, but remember that it was Parcells who shipped his no yac ass to Tampa in the first place.
|
Well, who ever gets KJ will have a problem off the field however it might be a good pick up for a team that doesn't have a good receiving core.

I don't know if the above will hyperlink, but if not, copy and paste it. Looks like Cowboys, Bucs are getting closer. Cowboys to get dickhead Keyshawn, couldn't see it happen to a better team! |
In a sitdown address with Tampa Bay area media Friday morning, new Buccaneer GM Bruce Allen touched on a large number of topics, mostly the team's situation heading into the free agent period starting next Wednesday.
He also confirmed that the team is in discussions with Joey Galloway about restructuring his contract, a prerequisite for a trade that would bring Galloway to Tampa Bay for Keyshawn Johnson. "Obviously we can't accept the contract the way it is," Allen said. He added that Galloway, who reportedly was not thrilled about leaving Dallas at first, would now be "excited to play here" after talking with Bucs coach Jon Gruden. Apparently Gruden is psyched over the idea of Galloway in a Buccanneer uniform. Allen said " Joey Galloway is one of the fastest players in the NFL and I know what Jon Gruden can do with speed.... I think we might be able to trade one of his sons in order to get a player with that type of speed. Ever since I’ve known Jon, he’s wanted speed." Galloway's agent Leigh Steinberg said "We were going to have to redo Joey's contract anyway... we're just doing it with another team" in the Tampa Tribune. Steinberg said the Bucs need to work Galloway's deal so it would fit under the team's salary cap, before any trade may be done. |
He an overpaid and overhyped possession receiver. Yes, he will go over the middle and stretch out for the ball, but he can't beat anyone deep and he isn't a g to guy in the red zone. Everywhere he has gone he has caused problmems. Why would anyone team want to deal with his baggage?
|
Finally, this deal gets done.
Leave it to Me-shawn to blame everyone but himself on his way out of town. No class, I expected nothing less. At least Sapp said 'No hard feelings, it's a business' Let's see how 'Just throw me the damn ball' plays with the Dallas fans. Good Riddance. |
Wow, I just lost some respect for Parcells. Maybe Jones is in full control.

Because Keyshawn is a distraction to the team that doesn't perform well enough on the field to warrant putting up with his crap. At least T.O. puts up numbers.
If Parcells likes him so much, why did he trade him last time? |
He needs to pack his bags and head to Dallas!
How bout them Cowboys! |
im from b-more so im pretty pissed that TO went to philly ..that dumbass
