The University of Texas always gets a good class.
It's the skill that keeps us in the polls, not the coaching . This is Mack Brown's specialty. Rivals has us @ #5 and so does the insiders. I'm worried that we havent gotten a qb in the last 2 years :O. We had two or three of them that we were watching, but they left for OU, OSU and Aggy. I'm hopin that we'll still get Xavier Lee. That would set this class up.

Early Doucet has been reported to have committed to LSU today.
USC and LSU will duke it out for the top spot but Michigan, Miami, Texas and FSU will fight for the next 4 spots. Michigan is on Tim Jamison. He dominated at the AA game and every raved about him. They also in on Cam Covin, Adrian Arrington and Dutch. The last three are WRs and Michigan leads for them all. One is a 5* and the other two are 4*. Also Eugene Germany from Pomana, Cali is a DE who has Michign in the lead another 4*...stars dont always mean much...but it is all we really have to base anything at this point and time. Art |

Yea, I just read earlier that Doucet committed to LSU... (that really sucks for UM)
But UM just got a verbal from a kid named Jonathan St. Pierre, OL from Montreal does anyone have any information about him? Xavier Lee... i hear he may end up at FSU or Auburn |

Ohio State has the number six class according to Rivals.
I like the fact that the Buckeyes have gotten 14 out of the 18 in their recruiting class from the state of Ohio. I always laugh at the recruiting classes from places like Nebraska. C'mon people, get your players from your own backyard. The running back Ohio State picked up from Akron is supposedly real good, and the DB they got from Cleveland, Theodore Ginn, was one of the hottest recruits in the country. So far, so good for Ohio State. |

Michigan is ahead of them..
They are just 1 point out of 3rd by what rivals says... Michigan pulls down 4 of the targets six they going after will finish no worse than 4th. Ginn is the real deal. Watched him in the AA game and he looked great other than maybe more of a Dion type player than Ty Law or Woodson. Does not like to be to physical. He returns like Dion also. Too bad about Fred Davis. he was supposed to be a lock to OSU and he still might be but everything that is being said is that he goes west or way down south. Art |

According to rivals.com my trojans have the number one class overall so far. We have the nations top offensive linemen in Jeff Byers from colorado, and the top linebacker in the country in Keith rivers from Florida. Plus all the top players in Cali, exellent class in the sunshine state.

Hey... lets put it into perspective... UM (Michigan) is like her majestic empire Great Britain. Ruled the world for centuries until this little colony america (UM - Miami) began to form and become powerful itself. Until eventually that colony (miami) became so powerful that it overthrew the empire of "Michigan" and now Miami is on top of the world! and the rest is history
but for real I like Michigan, I dont see them play too often but i root for them (i rooted for them against USC)... they do have cool looking helmets, I'll give you that... |

I think the canes will be alright if they just keep tapping into there own resources (south florida)... best high school players come from the state of florida in my opinion... just one more month to go to see the results!
oh... i stand corrected... nebraska, oklahoma, and texas have some unbelievable highschool lineman... (what the hell do they eat down there!?) Last edited by SAM821; 01-11-2004 at 09:11 AM.. |

ok so miami picked up 5 star WR lance Legget... (again) and Coker has made personal visits to like 5 or 6 super prospects in the last 2 or 3 days. Things are getting better.
Art, you got any of that inside information for me about the canes? |

Damn, Arizona State has really picked it up recruiting wise. Dirk Koetter may suck at coaching, but he's landed several recruits these past couple of weeks. One BIG name-Zach Miller. #1 TE chose home over OU and Miami. They catapulted into the top 25 rankings in both rivals.com and theinsiders.com last week. Looks like Mr. Stoops may be in some trouble in Tucson.

Cal had a huge week, landing Mbakogu, Williams, and Sakeli Faaeteete, as well as recent RB superstar #2 rivals RB Marshawn Lynch--from Oregon and SC, respectively. Payback from SC stealing "Tiny" Malu. Guess they asked him Sakeli to Greyshirt or it was the loss of the Samoan LB(?) coach that did it. Cal is possibly looking to steal Hinds, who may be wavering because of JD Booty. No way is Cal gonna crack the top 15 with only 16 schollies to give, but their average ranking is high enough that they look to be in a position to challenge SC in recruiting next year after a solid 9-2, 8-3, or 10-1 season this 2004 year.
Unfortunately, I believe they had to turn down 4 star WR Derrick Jones due to a lack of scholies, but its great turning down 4 star players all the same. He still may go to SC, and they are LOADED at WR. WOW is SC loaded this year. |

Johnson and Carter 2-5* are headed to LSU.
Adrian Arrington picked Michigan today. He is 4*. I agree Cal had a huge week. Bad week for USC. They are reportedly pulling scholarships, which is not going to sit well with some of their recruits. It makes them think that the school is not trustworthy. Could really help Michigan and the Ducks for Colvin and Michigan with Eugene Germany. Art |

GF they did not have a bad week in terms of who committed....they had a bad week publicity wise due to all these pulled scholarschips. It will come back to haunt them.
Arrington is a four star recruit. Not the 4th ranked reciever. Michigan just picked up Tim Jamison who was one of the top 2 players at the Army game. He is a top 20 recruit by Lemming and is flying up other recruiting sites as this process goes on. BTW If not for Juco players...Michigan would have a real shot at being #1 but since Michigan hardly and I mean hardly ever takes them....well....hehe Art |
