How about this Ducks/Stars game?!

I just got done watching the Angels/Yankees game and the Ducks/Stars game is going into OT #5! Simply amazing.

Tune in, as you may witness history tonight. That is, if you can stay awake...

Montreal was riding a hot goaltender last year (Theodore), who carried them well into the second round. However, once the other team (Hurricanes) figured out how to pass the goaltender, the team essentially collapsed.

Now, I don't think the Ducks are quite the same as the Habs. Unlike Montreal last year, the Ducks are actually producing some offense. But if Dallas ever figures out how to get through Giguere, they're pretty much boned.

feeling tingly

I am so amazed at the endurance of hockey players. There have been so many overtime--and multiple overtime--games this season and yet the players are expected to be back on the ice in 2 days. Or, in the case of the Game 7 of the first round--they were back on the very next day.

I know they skate in shifts--just in case the critics are preparing to chime in--but the endurance and quick recovery is astounding.

Man, I dozed off during the second overtime and woke up to them still playing. Great catch-up in the third, but I am routing for the Ducks to move on. No reason though.

I tried to stay up for the whole game... made it to the end of the 3rd overtime before nodding off. It was a great overtime run. They peppered both of those goalies, but it seemed as if Dallas kept the momentum up during the OTs and the Ducks were dragging. But as we all know it just takes one lucky break away to end those games.

When I got home the first OT was underway. Had planned to do some work at home but that went down the drain along with the Stars
Been a Ducks fan since day one, been to many games. I enjoyed this very much. Although it wasn't good for my stomach

GET GIGGY WITH IT!@#!

If Anahiem does get past Dallas I see them in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Ok all I have got to say is this... Rule 57a that called back the game winning goal back in the third, is BS. The net resettled back and never had to be reset by an official. Reminds me of the Sabre/Stars series where Brett Hull's foot was in the crease and he scored the winning goal. (which prompted the crease rule to change) So they followed the rule, big deal the game was over in the 3rd. (It's not like anyone really skated in the 4th anyways)

Lots of fun those overtime games. Out here on the left coast you don't have to stay up too late to catch all the action. I'm glad the Ducks won.

I think the Ducks are giving it everything they got and at this rate they seem un-beatable. I think Giggy really carries their team at some times. He'll face so many shots, but it seems like his D get a little lazy, but there's some excellent chemistry on that team.

How about the second game? Dallas messes up in their own zone to force another OT? Dallas is in trouble.

Zeld, the Ducks have been around for like 10 years. The wild is 3 years, that's the crazy one. Though it's obvious (Even in game 3 that the Ducks lost) that J.S. Giguere is in the Stars' heads. He's stopping stuff no one should be, and only by dumb ass luck are they getting any goals. I'm not sure he's a goalie of the future though. (Hell look at Nabokov and Cechmanek they were stellar their first few years...but no one is talking about them like they're gods.)

I haven't seen any of the games yet, but looking from what I saw in the regular season, I can bet that 95% of the reason the quackers are doing so well is because of JSG. Dallas is a rock solid team, one of the best in the NHL.

With that said, I hope the Ducks beat 'em. Gotta love the underdogs!

And just watch. Next year, Giguere will be lucky if he can stop a beach ball. It's his year to shine.

Well players are known to kick it up a notch for the Playoffs Claude Lemeaiux is a great example. JSG could be one of those players...hell no one knew who he was in the regular season. Now with 7 wins in 8 games....I think everyone knows who he is. Hell he's the Ducks Con Smythe if they win it all.
