Nice place to go for Simms. There is a winning attitude, an entrenched veteran, etc. Nice he won't have pressure to win (he wont play), I think the pressure has gotten to him in the past.

May surprise, he has all the physical tools. But a mental question mark.

Banks is a great QB.

I don't really want to pull the race card, but I will.

tb has like 5 pro qb's in their lineup, doesnt look like simms would get to see daylight anytime soon

I think that's better though. He'll be guaranteed the third spot on the team, so he doesn't have to compete. He can just sit back and learn from the others. Then, after next season he can compete to be the number two, or possibly the starting, qb. Currently, he's in a situation that he really can't lose, he's under no real pressure to perform, and he can learn from possibly the best quarterback's coach in the league (Gruden).

Hope he never has to play in a game that counts for anything - he has a real problem winning if there is anything on the line - does well against push overs.

In all honesty, In 4 to 5 years I think Simms will be the best QB in this draft. Look at his numbers the last 3 years and keep in mind he had to play the likes of OK, AM, K. ST defenses which Palmer never had to. Simms has been at worse a good QB for the last 3 years while Palmer only had one good year. I'm just not convinced that having one good year makes you a good player and the NO. 1 pick in the draft.
There has never ever ever been a college player in the spot light like Simms has been in. He has been under more pressure then any college player in the history of college football yet he still managed to stay composed and perform week in and week out. Can you think of anyone that couldn't beat there rival and it being so publisized like Simms and Oklahoma. Simms was the QB for those games but he wasn't responsible for them losing those games. Coach Brown was definately out coached by Swoopes and co.
Like others have said, going to TB and being under the wing of Gruden was a blessing and someday in the near future, Simms will have the last word on this draft.
