I been followin' this guy since he was a hapless starter... now he's frickin' incredible. Too fucking bad his contract doesn't get a bonus, though. Damn clauses.. he's worth WAY more than $550k

Gagne had one of the greatest years of any closer in history and he deserves to be recognized for that.

I feel for Jason Schmidt who proved himself over 200 innings and he walks away with second place.

Why not have 2 different awards of the same stature--one for starters and one for relievers?? Not something like the Rolaids Relief Man award....instead have the Cy Young Award for best starter of the year and the Rollie Fingers Award for best closer.

What Gagne did this year was amazing, but his job is far different than Schmidt or Mark Prior.
