My Sports Rant
I'm sick of all you fans who don't stick by your team and jump off the bandwagon at the first sign of trouble. You blame one person for all your teams troubles and say "If I ran this team I would.." and other such bullshit on a daily basis. You don't even watch the games but make judgements by what you saw on sportscenter or in a boxscore. You pound the Espn message boards with endless ridiculious trades and other such nonsense. Please..be a true fan. You can't win a championship every year. There will be years your team just plain sucks! A true fan will be there for good and bad and support your players as long as they wear that uniform.
I'm sorry I vented.... Go Celtics, Cowboys and Cubs! |

i've been a cubs fan since the second year i lived in our fair metropolis (1991), and they have sucked hard for the majority of that time.
i feel fully justified basking in their non-suckiness. ahhhhhh..... |
I came on board with Dale Earnhardt in '92, the worst season of his career, and rode through some low spots in the late '90's with him. I also went through the 1980's with the Packers, and the past few seasons with the Broncos. I can't even listen to AM radio due to all the blowhards who couldn't do any better.
Go Broncos, Packers, Avalanche and Matt Kenseth! |

I have been a dolphins fan for 18 years. I have always cheered for them throughout everything and put up with all the nay-saying when they sucked (thinking back to the "rebuilding seasons" after Shula left.....sigh). I am a very very very firm believer in the "stick with your team no matter what" theory! The worst thing to me is when you have people who don't even give a rat's ass about a particular sport and they start cheering for the winning team just so they can fit in with the majority. Makes me want to tie them up in the desert and leave them for the scavengers.

i'm a 100% Washington Huskies fan, always will be! This year they may suck, but i dont care they are my team!
And for NFL i'm a Browns fan. Ever since they came back i LOVED them (i live in cleveland) and cant stand to see them lose even they do it a lot, i still stick with them! Nothing i cant stand more than fair weather fans! |
Yankees, Bills, NY Rangers, Navy and Buffalo football.
And like I mentioned in a previous thread, I've got the "NY" proudly tattooed on my upper left arm. Who else out there has their team's logo tattooed on them? -Mikey |
Well, I'm pretty much double cursed as I'm a Red Sox fan and a Raiders fan. Both teams are in the playoffs almost every year and it's been a long time since they won the big one.
|
bandwagon? i root for the biggest underdogs in any league.
GO ORLANDO MAGIC, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS, AND FLORIDA MARLINS. see a trend? |
I am a Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, Michigan fan. I like Bill Elliot. Have since about mid 80's. I choose him because my first name is Bill also.
I also like the Red Sox, Bucs and Broncos ( i root for these teams because my teams in those sports suck and I root for the other teams because they are usually in the playoffs or at least the hunt). Art |

I'm a supporter from my home team in the sports industry: Go Sens, Go Renegades ... uh, that's it for my home teams. As for other leagues, I watch for the enjoyment, not for a particular team. |

|
Go Avalanche Go Avalanche i have always been a Colorado fan and always will be even when they screw up a 3-1 series lead against a horrible team such as Minnesota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol :D

I've been a Giants fan since they moved to San Francisco. And a 49ers fan since the days of Y.A. Tittle.
Have they disappointed me at times? Sure. They have also exhilirated me plenty. I have been kinda a half fan of the Oakland As and Raiders. I actually was a big fan of the Raiders for a while (from the late 60s into the 80s). But when Al Davis started turning on the Oakland fans and blaming them for his problems, he lost me. And that was while they were still in LA. They came back, but he has never been able to win me back. Maybe when he's no longer involved with the team. |

whatever happened to rooting for the home teams? well i guess that only works if u live in a city, but go dolphins, marlins, and heat!
and i guess the panthers too |
I don't switch - I don't watch sports no matter who is playing unless I have a personal interest in the outcome of the game and the only teams I have an interest in are OU and the Cowboys. Through the bad years and through the good years.

explain please? I am, and always have been, a big fan of the following teams: Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh Penguins Pittsburgh Pirates Los Angeles Lakers these are the teams I have backed for 20+ years. I have NO backup teams. I only root for other teams if and when a) it helps my team in the standings, and/or b) my teams are eliminated, then I may wish to see some other team win the title. |
I always will be a fan of the following:
Dallas Cowboys Dallas Stars San Antonio Spurs Texas Longhorns Texas Rangers USA Eagle Rugby New Zealand All Blacks I have other teams that I will watch, but not necessarily a fan of, I just like the way they play the game. |
Chicago Cubs
Chicago Blackhawks I will never care about another baseball team or hockey team. Don't be mistaken though, I'm a good Chicagoan and will root for the Sox if they make the playoffs. I was really looking forward to the possibilities of this year until the Sox blew it. Still, I could care less about going to Sox games (or any other team besides the Cubs for that matter) and can't stand Comiskey Park (I refuse to call it US Cellular). I'm also not a huge fan of the United Center, but what are you gonna do? :( I still remember my first Blackhawks game and how insanely loud the old stadium was. :) I, like Sion, have no backups. However, I do tend to root for the teams that beat my teams, unless they did it undeservedly. |
GO WALLABIES
go NSW WARATAHS go EASTWOOD RUGBY go SYDNEY SWANS go PARRAMATTA EELS |

Don't get me started on the Mariners and the Seahawks. Except this year both teams did/are doing well. Being a Browns fan makes up for the Huskies. |
I hear ya Manwich. Here are my teams:
Calgary Flames, Calgary Stampeders, Seattle Sonics, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners |
wasnt there another thread with everyone saying their teams, oh well.
heres who i back Anaheim Ducks Los Angeles Lakers Michigan Wolverines Los Angeles Galaxy and if i had to pick a baseball team, the Anaheim Angels and for some reason i dont know i like to see the Philly Eagles do well |
Grew up in Atlanta... so...
Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Thrashers, and Hawks (though I don't really follow the NBA much). UGA and GaTech college football (some people in atlanta would think that'd be like rooting for both Ohio State and Michigan... well, since I don't go to either school, tough... and when they get to play each other, i just root for a close, exciting football game) and last but certainly not least: Cornell men's ice hockey! Let's go RED! |
Yeah go
Chicago Bears - suck ass this year Oakland A's - have lost in first round of playoffs 23 years in a row New Orleans Hornets - will never make it to the finals Penn State (football) - Joe Pa must go UConn (basketball) - should be AMAZING this year and you can check with me 10 years from now and my teams will still be the same always have been and always will be. I didn't move around a lot I just hate local teams and I have different reasons for liking each squad. But I am truly behind all of them NO MATTER WHAT!! |
OU Sooners & Dallas area teams (Cowboys / Mavericks / Stars / Rangers).
|
Angels
Lakers Cowboys UCLA Bruins Have taken alot of abuse for being an Angels fan especially at the beginning of each season when I say they will win it all...... last season it finally came true, and I can say will all my heart after 29 years of taking that abuse it was one of the best moments in my life to be there and see the playoff games, was not there for game seven of the WS but was there for game six and when we clinched the AL against the Twins. I go to 20 to 40 Halo games each and every season and my loyalty has never waivered (with the exception of Mo Vaughn...I hated that deal and his play, or lack there of) I watch EVERY game on TV that I can't attend, and I even have my schedule at work arranged around my HALOS during the baseball season. These are my four teams and I will NEVER, and HAVE NEVER had a change of heart. |
Go 49ers, Seminoles, A's
I started watching these teams as a teenager while they were all winning and they are my favorite teams no matter what happens on or off the field. |
I was born and raised a Bills, Yankees, Sabres, and Knicks fan. I grew up in West Africa and would watch the Superbowl live via satellite at 2 in the morning..imagine doing that 4 years in a row and never getting the glory! That plus the Sabres and Knicks?? Don't tell me I don't stick with my team. Having the Yankees is what keeps me sane.
Go Bills! Beat KC! |
