Red Sox - A's
Okay folks, any predictions for tonight's game? I was at the Aug 11th game when Hudson 2-hit the Sox so I have some pretty big doubts about the Sox tonight. I think Pedro and Hudson are gonna pitch one for the ages.
Final score: Sox 2 A's 1 |
not that there needs to be anything else working against the Red Sox, but the zip code for Network Associates Stadium is 94666.

Gotta love the way the Sox celebrated the Bucky Dent Homer 25th anniversary... by dropping a playoff game. A bases loaded bunt in the 12th inning by the catcher? You can't dream that shit up.

*sobs* my poor, poor, Red Sox. Down 2 games to none now. We only need three straight. Yeah, right. I guess good pitching really does beat good hitting.
At least I still have the Cubs to root for. And the Yankees to root against. |
I still ogt faith in the BoSox. A lot of those balls hit to left in Oakland would have easily been off the wall in Fenway. Lowe's 11-2 at home this season and the last time the Sox dealt with Lily, they rocked him. I think the Sox will pull out Game 3 and Game 4 could be the same, although Burkett scares me more than the Sox facing Hudson.
Game 5 has the potential to be a classic: Pedro vs Zito. God please help them! |
Well, there you go. Apparently, a guy caught in a run-down would have easily scored if he wasn't "interefered" with, but when Bill Mueler elbows Tejada as he rounds third, that interference has nothing to do with his ability to score.
Um, yah. Good call there, morons. |
Either way, Braves are going to win.

Anyway, a rested Pedro Martinez vs a never worked on short rest Barry Zito. Should be interesting. |

Yeah, the Pedro-Zito match up is gonna be a classic. I'm actually very grateful to the Yankees, for once, by beating the Twins early and giving the Sox-A's a bit more rest: 4pm start rather than the original 1pm. I think the A's are in trouble. Manny and Ortiz finally got their crap together and the A's could hardly do anything against old man river, John Burkett; did Tejada or Chavez get a hit in game 4? I can not wait until tomorrow night. Fasten your seat belt, its gonna be awesome. |

Fate doesn't seem to like the Braves. Enjoy the world people as it will end before the end of October. Looks to be a Sox-Cubs series. |
Red Sox will win and then beat the Yanks.

Whatever you do Boston if you have the lead let anyone but Kim close it. Let BK Kim warm the bench.

Naaah, I'd put BK in a cage and lock him away with the Tiger that attacked Roy. BK would be a complete disaster to the Red Sox, at this point. Perhaps he needs to pitch over the top instead of the frisbee throw. Gotta love the Sox bullpen, though. They're stepping up and making Kim unnecessary. |
Well, that really hurt to lose that series. We (the A's) got JOBBED by that call in game 3, but you gotta give him credit... Eric Burns is even dumber than that paid off third base umpire. How can you not touch fucking home plate?!?! Boston played well in games four and five, and now I gotta suck it up and root for the Sox against the evil empire. So go sox. And I am over Lowe's gesture. Big deal. I absolutely see why Tejada's pissed. He has mad pent up aggression because his team fucked up and to top it off was rammed in the ass by one of the worst ump jobs in postseason history--he has to have someone to take it out on, and Burns had probably left the game earlier to flee from the A's fans. OUCH. Guess the Curse beat the Choke, but lets see how the Giambino plays into this one.
/jumping on Sox and Cubs now. Cheese |
