Saturday: USC loses, Arkansas survives, and more
 

Wow - after Arkansas survived Alabama I switched to the USC/California game, and now I'm watchin a tied Tennessee/South Carolina game.

Some observations from this Saturday:
The fumble by Alabama when they were up two touchdowns was the crucial play of the game.

Arkansas won ugly - Ohio State proved you don't need to win pretty last year - but Arkansas had alot of things that Ohio State didn't, like turnovers. They need to eliminate those mistakes.

Oregon got beat in every phase of the game. I didn't watch it, and although I don't really like Lee Corso, when he says Oregon got beat up front on both sides of the ball I believe him. If someone would teach some of these Pac-10 schools how to play defense they'd have something.

USC's loss was obviously due to east coast bias.

The Northwestern running back is awfully good. It's a shame he wears purple on Saturday.

Northern Illinois took care of business in a possible "let down" game.

Iowa can tell you all about Jeff Smoker. I look for both Iowa and Michigan State to have nice seasons, but the Michigan State club is exciting with Smoker.

Well, Texas owned

Arkansas showed the country how lucky they were against Texas and two teams that I thought were pretty good got beat (USC and Oregon).

Anyway, it's playing right into the hands of Texas. We should gain some spots in the standings.

That Florida comeback against UK was pretty amazing also.

Wow...Texas beat up on Tulane...hey, Maryland beat up on Eastern Michigan; maybe we'll make the Top 15!

Only observation, The Ducks, really AREN'T that good.

LSU crushed Mississippi State today. No letdown after the big Georgia win last week. The SEC is loaded this year with Arkansas, Tennessee, and LSU.

The Dude we all know you love Texas but until they beat someone could you at least keep it down. I mean they got the crap beat out of them by Arkansas. Now you beat up on Rice last week and Tulane this week....if you had not owned it would have not only been amazing but shown how bad your team really is.

I would be shocked if Texas does not lose 3 this year.

U of Toledo and Marshall both had the let down game after huge wins. Marshall should have won, and UT was playing Syracuse at Syracuse. Oh well. OSU still undefeated!

Well for a week that was not supposed to have many good games it sure was exciting. I being a Ohio state fan liked watching USC loose. Man that was a good game, kinda like the OSU games this year. Oregon, well what can you say, they self-destructed. And God Alabama should have won that game. Arkansas is as lucky as the buckeyes. I kinda feel bad for South Carolina too, that would have been a really good win for them. Did you see the look of dispointment on holtz's face? How many overtime games were there this weekend 4 or 5? it was crazy. Anyway Dude Texas is a good team, but they can't win the big one. But I will be rooting for ya against OU. I live in tulsa and I am sick of hearing about how fucking good OU is. Overall it was a good week in college football.
